Time is running out. The Playoffs is in Jepordy. When we think it's safe to say we have a decent team and coach we get smacked up side the head. Help me find an answer to the Knicks problems. It seems that every team now has Gallo's number and they get right in his face and then instead of driving to the basket he pass the ball off. Nate had no lift to his shot tonight it kept hitting the front of the rim. He had no leggs.What do we have to do to make Lee play defense?

main problem right now is our total lack of a defensive presence down low IMO, followed closely by a lack of a scoring threat at the PG position who can actually orchestrate... neither Nate nor TD have shown an ability to do the latter & Duhon can't do the former... forget about Lee playing defense, he's got no desire to do so

IMO the most realistic options are:

1. play Jordan Hill more, he needs more seasoning but he's got the talent to be a defensive presence down low that we need

2. trade Nate or Larry Hughes for a PG replacement & have Duhon be the backup

3. make a trade for someone like Marcus Camby or Brendon Haywood using Mobley's contract & our 2nd rounders as bait, cuz neither the Clips nor the Wizards are going anywhere this year & Clips already have Kaman at the C position & next year Blake Griffin will be back at PF... Wizards have McGee & Blatche & they're looking to blow up the team soon anyway... mine as well save some money in the process.

Mike get horses who cannot run fast (so he slow down) and now cannot run at all (time to start training new horses).

Well, maybe we can make David watch some tape of his defense. He is getting abused with his surrender defense. He doesn't leave his feet even when standing in the no-charge area under the hoop. I note that he has gotten a block in each of the last two games, I think he still needs to be more aggressive defensively.

As for this year, while not a mathematical impossibility, the playoffs are a severe improbability. Three weeks from now, after the trade deadline, I'd like to see what the lineup consists of.

Chandler
Gallo
Lee
Hill

Landry
Bender
Jeffries

Problem is we SUCK!!.....

Our Point Guard SUCKS!!

Our SG is really a forward!

Our SF is really more of a PF ....

Our PF avg's 5 points a game

Our C is a PF

Role players are nothing but CHUCKERS this goes out to AL , Nate , TD , Bender , Hughes
**** seems like only Gallo has ever played team Basket Ball

We have a master at the 7 sec offense yet have players that need 14 seconds to process it..

We Have collected as many expiring **** contracts aka Al Hughes Mobley Darko and we threw
the year away!!

Hope we Play TD Hill Landry more now that we officially suck!!


Way to fix it all....... Get Lebron no other way!!

Bender doesn't belong in the rotation at all but i'm down with your starting 5... Douglas needs experience leading an offense cuz he might be heading ours next season... i would still play Nate along w/Jeffries off the bench because there's still the slim hope of a trade at season's end, & Al Harrington is too good a player to be riding pine the rest of the year... i would expand the rotation to 9 guys & play Duhon cuz he can still be a decent backup PG... u need someone who can backup up TD at the point, cuz no one in your rotation can do it... Landry can be signed w/a veteran's minimum after the season, no need to play him this year... he's just happy to have made an NBA roster.

The team has been a big disappointment lately for sure. It kind of coincides to N8 coming back into the lineup. I am not saying it is N8's fault but at about the same time he started playing again Duhon went back into his season long funk. The only time Duhon has played decently all year is when N8 sat. Weird.

IMO, it all stems from Duhon. I would play these guys:

TD
Chandler
Gallo
Lee
Hill

N8
Jeffries
Harrington
Bender

That is it. Unless they can get a legit PG ( I really cannot believe I am saying that after this past year's draft!)

With some guys it isn't about talent it is about fit. Bare doesn't fit right the way the offense is constructed and with the type of players we have. I really do think it is as simple as that.

Nate has more talent but I would trade him for a guy like Heinrich(all things including contract being equal) in a heartbeat on this team.

Time has run out. Playoffs are not a realistic possibility. The objectives the rest of the season should be to clear as much cap as possible. If the Los Angeles Lakers agree to swap Adam Morrison for Jared Jeffries (as a trade example), Donnie Walsh must do it. We MUST get rid of that contract. And second objective, develope Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas. Get them ready to play in the rotation in 2010. We are a 30s win team. Utah will get a 8th-10th pick. It's a weak draft so it's not the end of the world. Let's make the best of it LONG TERM. This season is shot.

Let's run Larry Hughes until the trade deadline. Either he'll respond to the challenge, or he shut the hell up. Increase the rotation to 9, maybe 10 players. It seems like these 7 are playing on dead legs. Train Jordan Hill to take Jeffries spot. Let him sub for Jared as well as Lee. Lets find out what he can do. Even if we trade Jeffries, we still want that kind of effort from some player. Make a quicker decision on N8's contribution. Don't wait for a 1 for 10 to decide that he's not on. Bring in TD. As a matter of fact, we should be pressing the backcourt with a N8 and TD backcourt for some portoin of the game. It will show a higher commitment to defense. Gallo needs instruction on when to look for his shot as well as point guards being directed to force feed him. Let's get that show on the road.

Unless you can bring in Adelman to get these guys playing at both ends of the floor the season is over. I guess Knick fans have to hope that D'Antoni can do a Mike Brown impression and get out of the way and let LBJ do his thing. My guess is that the L.B.J. offense is better than the s.s.o.l. offense and I know the L.B.J. defense is much better.

MDA actually had this team playing pretty good defense for a good stretch. It has fallen apart recently but I wouldn't characterize MDA as being incapable of getting his teams to play D. MDA has had to be somewhat gimmicky on D. We can't just D up teams straight up and be successful. We have to remember that teams have film on us and are attacking our weaknesses more. We don't have another trick up our sleeves to adjust to teams adjusting to us. Until we can add more defensive players we're stuck with this gimmicky switching zone defense that is soft in the middle and teams know it.

Real talk.....the plan is to move Eddy and Jared...Eddy just had knee surgery so he is not going anywhere...Jared has a chance to be moved but unless Donnie wants to sell him to Utah for Korver or to the Lakers for Adam Morrison, nobody is taking his retarded ass for a salary dump.

Plan B??? obvious...keep Jared and Eddy and let their contracts melt off to add more talent in the 2011 off season...

so basically rape the diehard fans for 2 years with the hope some all-stars sign in NY so they can be ass raped by the media for 4-6 years...

Anyway, a couple of problems with this team:

1) We suck on rebounding. We don't have good man to man defenders so we have to zone, and because we zone we can't box out. We also don't have athletic rebounders that might be able to overcome this, so we get killed on the boards (we are 4th from the bottom on rebounding) - see http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/stats/byteam?&cat1=Total&cat2=diff&conference=NBA&year=season_2009&sort=233

2) Our personnel doesn't fit the system. The D'Antoni offense relies on ball movement to take advantage of open looks, but we usually have 2 people on offense who can't shoot (Duhon and Jeffries) so teams have an easy time providing weak side help against us... we are bottom 3 on Field goals made, see above link.

There is no free lunch in this league (hey, it turns out even Memphis did ok in the Pau Gasol trade so you can't use that trade as an example) so we should just let JJ/Curry come off the books naturally and tank hard after this year.

Rose is not the answer.

the problem with this team is easy, they are one dimensional and lack talent. look at it like this, all these guys are on temp assignments right now, auditionioning for fulltime employment roles while sr managament searches for someone to lead them.

Fatalistic posts of late. Panic in the streets, hope has disipated, the ship be sunk!!!!

The key theme I get a kick out of in many posts seems to be typical of our country which is to assign blame than seek clarity.
