He doesn't have the drive that the Landry brothers have. Simple as that.

It ain't that deep.

Jordan Hill doesn't have three kids to feed. Hunger is rolling through Wal Mart with a shopping cart packed to the top with clothes that will be outgrown in about six months.

Marcus Landry is working out in a gym somewhere right now.

They play different positions. Would you rather he make Marbury-type comments and cause problems in the clubhouse?

The fact that Hill keeps his press-clippings modest has more than one possible conclusion. You are horrified that he doesn't give a crap. Other people might take it that he is smart enough as a rookie not to air out his issues with the press. I don't think it is a bad thing. Everything that the pundits say make me believe he works hard in practice. Why would you need him to stir up trouble? Not enough other drama to read about?

I want to know why Bender gets more burn than Hill.

Its pretty obvious Hill is younger, more talented, more athletic, and has a better J.

Tommy D did mention Hill was staying late to get extra work. But two different guys and two different positions its up to he coach to find him minutes by getting Lee some rest...

God knows David Lee needs some rest. Did you catch the mic'ed up during the Bobkitten game? MDA says to Dave "hey, you're playing so well, I gotta keep you in, you're doing it to yourself! ::chuckle::"

Knicks rookie forward Jordan Hill hasn't been able to work himself into coach Mike D'Antoni's rotation this season.

"It's a little frustrating not playing," Hill said. "But I understand where coach is coming from. There are veterans in front me."

David Lee and Al Harrington are ahead of Hill in the rotation, but undrafted rookie Marcus Landry is as well.

"It's a big surprise," Hill said. "But Marcus works hard in practice. He comes early and leaves late."

D'Antoni said Hill is "going to get a chance here pretty soon."

Hill has appeared in just 11 games, averaging 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in a little over eight minutes of action.

I didn't know uk.com had so many qualified psychologists... I mean, I knew we had a plethora of top end GMs, scouts, and coaching talent, but psychologists too?

He just doesn't care. He has been guaranteed about 10M dollars already as a #8 draft pick and he seems just fine with that.

He's more into his hair than he is his game.

Yet I get bashed when I take this guy to task. Go figure.

We all do more in our sleep than Jordan Hill seems to want to do in life.

He's a waste.

He should still get time in games like last night when we were going down in flames while David Lee was getting shat on like a port-a-potty at a rock concert though.

What the hell would the harm be?

Meanwhile, a while ago someone replied to a scathing post of mine direct at Hill, with "Well, if he knows he's not going to play why should he care."

Well, this is why: You don't automatically get playing time and then say "Cool, I'm playing, now I'll work hard in practice." - it is the other way around, you work your ass off and you FORCE them to play you because you have been tearing it up in practice and making those who get minutes over you look foolish.

Jordan Hill doesn't give a **** plain and simple. He is one big dumb lazy POS that just seems like it's a task to watch games and can't wait until they are over so he can go catch a smoke.

Again, as I said in another thread, I don't take this "face only a mother can love" approach to being a fan of the team. If a player is screwing up I am calling them out on it.

Hill is a disgrace to hard working athletes everywhere. And THAT is why an absolute scrub like Marcus Landry is getting minutes over him.

It won't change. This guy needs to be dealt with Jeffries for a 2010 so we can tell LeBron we can sign him AND any other player of his choosing.

That is a good question, I think coach likes Bender's potential 3 point shooting. I would like to see TD on the court as well, Duhon broke down last year and I can see him breaking down again this year at this rate, the guy does not take good care of his body. However, I will give a little more rope, since they are winning.

Cosmic, i've only heard glowing reports about Jordan Hill in practice & his work ethic... just because Marcus Landry may be working harder doesn't mean Jordan Hill isn't working hard & doesn't give a ****.

Say what you want about Bender (or Cartilage, as I call him), but he provides length, three-point shooting, and veteran experience. Which is more than can be said of Hill. He's coming off of a 4-year layoff but his brain is still intact. And that's what, with good reason, MDA cherishes.

i'd rather see Marcus Landry get Bender's minutes even then having to watch Bender hobbling around on the court... Landry can knock down the open 3 just fine & he can actually move around out there & guard people... Jordan Hill, Larry Hughes, Marcus Landry, Toney Douglas... all of these guys should be seeing minutes before Bender does.

i'm just waiting for y'all to start calling Bender a "battle tested veteran" that will lead us to the promised land.

I've heard that Hill has a terrible work ethic in practice. It was only recently that one single reporter said otherwise wasn't it?

Aside from what we don't see behind closed doors...when you see Jordan Hill on the bench...you see a guy that is just entirely disinterested. His shining moment as a Knick was running onto the court to leap into the air to bump Nate Robinson during OT of the Hawks game. I mean the guy sits there. Doesn't even look at his teammates, doesn't get in the huddle during timeouts. It's like he's some random fan that got a good seat to a game that he has no desire to attend.

I just don't see it with this guy.

I still think he should be getting burn but I don't see anything there. Hell, Jackie Butler was far more exciting to watch than him. That....isn't a good thing. At all.

Then you throw in Donnie blasting his own scouts for telling him to pick Hill and missing out on Jennings (who really isn't all that IMO) and it's just not a good look at all.

When a sub-.500 team can't find a reason to give their lotto pick burn - when damn near every other team regardless of record has given their lotto pick burn - it doesn't look good at all.

Bottom line is Jordan Hill is apparently useless in practice and therefore pegged as being useless for an actual game. Otherwise...he'd be playing.

Proof in the pudding as they say and this go around the pudding is playing time on a sub .500 team. He doesn't play. He doesn't play on a team loaded with garbage. That should be proof enough. Then you throw in his horrible demeanor and you have your answer.

He sucks.
