The guy is 20-10.5-3.5 53%[how is that washed up?? can I get a couple of more washed up guys like that?] and the lack of D is stupid. We need more firepower + I also want to get Koufus.

At this point I think I'd rather choose Lee over Boozer. And that's secondary to making sure that LeBron dons the orange and blue.

I think Jazz would be interested in this, I'm just not sure it fits into our plans right now.

I suggest you watch him before commenting. Wow. Dude is killing it but he tends to do that during contract years.

Its pretty simple

C-Lee
F Boozer
F Gallinari
F G Chandler
G Duhon
F Jefferies
F Harrington
G Nate

and you have Koufus and Hill for next year

Also my bet is Koufus would get PT here after a couple of practices. I think MDA would like a mobile 7-1 260 pound guy who can also hit mid range shots

His +- versus Jefferies for this team would be quite dramatic--especially since we play a lot of zone.

forget about Boozer... this trade is about Koufus and if you think he's going to be a building block player moving forward.

Remember Walsh traded Dale Davis who was a double double guy shooting over 50% and who blocked shots for a skinny kid who couldnt get off the bench for 4 years in Portland.

Not really sure what the Jazz get from that trade. They have to really want that pick I guess.

Boozer has been playing like an absolute BEAST this season. I watched the recent Hornets-Jazz game and he absolutely demolished David West down low, just getting point blank shots at will.

That being said, the way he left Cleveland left a bad taste in my mouth. Who turns down a shot to grow up with Lebron for more $? Actually I might have done that.

But I prefer paying D. Lee, the homegrown talent who improves every season over paying Boozer. Lee never made a stink despite being on terrible teams here. Remember when the huge debate here was whether he should be starting or not?

I love players who care enough to get better every season. Hopefully after DLee gets paid he'll continute to exhibit that hunger to put in work to improve his game.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

I think any trade has to be within 25%--I would use Mobley but I dont think that would work. I would be willing to sweeten it with 2mm of JD$:)

If we added Boozer--we could compete THIS year--I want to win now--I say go for winning--3mm + a 2012 1st round pick that we wont need anyway. We would STILL have Jefferies but he could be used in a role that is suitable for him--off the bench. It would be tough for opposing teams to deal with Boozer+ Lee--that makes us as tough as anyone--think about it

what if they wanted Chandler and that pick... would you do it? I dont know how high they are on Koufus, or how good he is for that matter.

I definitely agree with you about Koufus and always have, he would fit here like a glove. I would just rather go after him instead of adding Boozer because I really do think LeBron is coming here.

No 3mm + a #1 pick--thats essentially giving the Jazz 6mm and there would be another 300k in differential towards the Jazz in the trade 6.3-6.5$ for half a year + a guy they dont use.

I don't know about anyone else but I want to win now--I dont care about what may or may not happen in 2010--if we haev a chance to bring an elite caliber basketball player to the team--that would improve the team without sacrificing cap space for next year--I would work hard to do it. There is opportunity in the east--why not us????????????????????????????????????????????/

I fully agree with this thinking Briggs, but I don't think Boozer is an elite-caliber basketball player, he puts up good numbers but his presence doesn't really seem to make a difference - kinda like Antawn Jamison. Utah was actually a better team last year when Boozer was injured and Millsap was starting and playing 30mpg for them.

Agreed.

And the thought of a Boozer/Lee frontcourt just doesn't do it for me. That's essentially what you commit to with a pick--because let's be real here, there's no chance the Jazz swap Boozer for Hughes + Koufus for a 2012 pick. Maybe Hughes + pick for Boozer has a chance of happening.

Regardless of how the hypothetical trade works out, I have no faith in (1) a Boozer/Lee frontcourt and (2) the majority of the salary cap being spread into those two players.
