Credit Chaney, for developing Williams, even if it was too slowly and stubbornly. Chaney spent more time with him in private meetings than any player, riding him on inconsistency. (Vangundy would have never done that with a young player)

"I haven't talked to him, but it looks like someone has," Walt Frazier said. "I've seen the development every game. The Knicks have had good point guards but they haven't gone to the basket, they've been perimeter shooters. Frank is looking to create, then shoot, which is very unselfish. Sometimes he's too unselfish when he gets in the lane." AHHH at last, a TRUE LEADER

Williams, selected by Layden at 25 in the summer of 2002

Are you now supporting Chaney and Layden again?

You don't know how JVG would have handled him. You just dont. Remember it was JVG who let Ward play when Riley and Nelson really didn't.

Gony you keep going backwards and I am pointing to the future get a grip before you lose it. I am for this team right now you are for anything that can help you in a argument.

Because ward wasn't a creator and gundy could (CONTROL) him more that is what he is about CONTROL. Rockets will fall short mark my words he doesn't understand giving a (real)pt guard freedom within a system

Just keeping it real on coaches who can coach young players and coaches who don't.

A coach coaches. The record determines how good they are!

... and that record is now 13-19. It's better than it was about a week ago, but still is a far cry from a winner.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Give it time, both of you know how much better this team is, just keep track of the record as we climb up the ladder in the east.

I am even more anxious to see what Zeke's first transaction will be. This team, as currently constructed, is not winning a title. After a trade or two, we will move up that ladder.

The team as is today could win 40 games..that means going 27-23 the rest of the way...it is doable. I will then say that Chaney got the most he could out of this current team. UNtil then, Chaney's record is suspect

Wait a second. You think this roster can give us a total of only 40 wins? Its Chaney's fault! With Frank starting we could've been at .500 right now and atleast win 48 to 50 games. The roster is flawed but we play most of our games in the East against flawed teams. Any coach with a little logic could've won more games than Chaney. It is his fault and waiting for him to start losing again is a waste of time! Just fire him. We all know he is overmatched. What happens if KVH and H2O cool down and start missing like they did when we were losing?

I know ur not a Chaney guy but Chaney's record is already suspect! We have never been .500! Thats not much to ask!

I credit Chaney for ingratiating himself with Dolan to the point where he was able to get three contract extensions, even though he's a terrible coach.

What I mean is that if NY wins 40, I think Chaney will have done a respectable job overall. I said this fromt he start. Of course, I DO think a better coach could get 45 out of this team. You may be right, starting FWILL all season long may be the difference in about 3 games right now which would put NY at 16-16 and in the playoff hunt.

I think Chaney is overmatched. he had 1 year with Houston. Other than that year he has mostly been way under .500

I give Isiah more of the credit for this run, than Chaney.

Under Chaney, I'm wondering what team will be able to beat the knicks on the upcoming schedule. Dig that!

You mean under Zeke and playing behind Fwill cause they started winning a game after Zeke got here and Chaney didn't do much till then.

Why do u have to get personal with almost every one of your posts? Are you trying to get a rise out of me or do u just enjoy taking cheap pot shots? You force me either get extremely defensive or respond with a similar remark. Are you trying to say I am stupid and that I cannot "get a clue?" Stop with ur regular BS. I dont appreciate it.

Chaney is not a good coach. He has not been one for the last 2 years. The record speaks for itself. I love the 4 game streak but I think its still a little early. You want me to get a clue, wait till they get to .500...I'll take the hint then.

Nothing personal silver , I have taken enough heat about how bad this roster was and people seem to have no faith in this roster and I just happen to. So if you get in my way of doubting THE "NEW LOOK KNICKS" under Zeke and Chaney you better forget about it. This is what we have ben waiting for...our time has come.
