the team is 1-4 w/o billups. the team didn't win a playoff series until billups came to town.

the uninspired argument against bosh is that he can't carry his team to wins. if that's true, then why is everyone so much higher on melo? is it the full court media press to try and put him in the lebron/wade category?

i think bosh and melo are on the same level as players - both a tier below the true superstars like Kobe, Bron and Wade.

Bosh would need to stand on a high chair to kiss Melo's ass...

Melo is significantly better than Bosh... so a five game sample trumps career? Come on now. Billups is a key component to this club. You don't just replace Billups. Learn to play without him I suppose.

Melo is arguably the best scorer in the game. He's a machine in that capacity. Chris Bosh is really good and I'd love to have him. But you can't make the claim that Chris Bosh is arguably the best at his position at x, y, or z, let alone the best in the game at anything

I would rather get Billups playing along with Bron and the rest of this teams then Melo. Billups was the reason Detroit won. One of the worst trades that I have ever seen that was.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

melo played with nene, kmart, jr smith, iverson, andre miller and coached by george karl.

btw, iverson was also the best scorer in the game for a long long time not to mention melo takes SIX more shots per game than bosh at 4% less shooting percentage.

bosh's supporting cast hasn't been as good and has been coached by sam mitchell and now rookie coach jay triano.

can you name another young pf that is better than bosh in the league?

Melo is Big Dogg Robinson with a chance to grow and get better than he Dog was.

Both are getting better.

Melo is a better player at his position than Bosh is at his.

I would take Melo before Bosh any day of the week and twice on any day that ends with day.

Lets not forget, the West has been much better than the east for yrs, Denver is alwasy in the playoffs while Bosh is languishing under 500. in a weak east. Melo also won a Chip in college with a team less talented than the team they beat.

i'd rather have Melo on my team but in terms of talent i don't think they're that much apart... they both fall slightly short of the Kobe/Lebron/Wade category, but that's not a slight on them... we'd be lucky as hell to have either one of them on this team... hearing all these guys picking & choosing like we suddenly in the driver's seat when it comes to bringing in elite ballplayers to NY makes me chuckle. ha. ha. ha.

Melo is much better because his scoring creates opportunities for teammates. He lives at the FT line and creates many open looks.

I would love to have Bosh though.. I am opposed to signing him for $17mm vs Lee at $10mm because I dont think the gap in talent matches the gap in salary and also because of our team needs next year. If Lebron/Wade/Dirk pass on us I would offer Bosh a max deal because I could still sign Lee. The guy is a bigtime scorer. How could you not be happy with a frontline of Lee/Bosh/Gallo for the next few years?

looks like melo can't win w/o billups, now 1-5

in the final 2 minutes, got his shot blocked, got stripped, missed a 7 foot jumper and missed a big ft...but he got 34 points...on 35 shots...

and kings played w/o tyreke evans...

and for a guy that has the ball as much as melo does...he's only averaging 3 assists...and bosh gets to the line a ton as well...

i'm just sayin'

Bosh may be the best young PF in the game, but that's a subcategory of the position. How many PFs are comparable or better than Bosh?

And Melo: how many SFs are better or comparable to Melo? I'd say he's second to LBJ and everyone else falls behind

I'd rather have a true center that can run the floor, block shots, take it to the hoop or hit the short jumper than either of them...then move D Lee to where he belongs and Bosh plays. Is Hill that guy? Dunno yet...seems to have the tools.

If the goal is to sell more tickets and get exited Melo is the king.
If you want you team to win consistently, dominate, and win it all - Melo cannot be the man.
You want players who make others better, who create and lead. Melo is just finisher (better version of our Al).
You want somebody to be able to execute and create (Bilups) and than get Melo on board.
Bosh is not the main peace. But he will not be in the way of first tier stars. He can compliment.

All-in-all both are secondary pieces. Or backup plan if no primary pieces available.

Melo reminds me of Bernard King (from what I have seen from old knick games on MSG). Bosh reminds me of Zach Randolph...actually imo I think Randolph is better than Bosh.

Melo has been in the playoffs every yr of his career, something not even Lebron and Wade can say. How many times has Bosh been to the playoffs??? Once or Twice???

bosh has made the playoffs twice...but i don't think that's a barometer...look at supporting casts and coach...

is melo better than bosh?
