Oden was never good and never going to be what the hype forced us to believe. We were told constantly that this guy was going to be the supreme being. A player never before seen. We could take all the great big men we've watched over the decades, smash them into one single entity, and watch him dominate in a way we've never seen. He was a hall of fame NBA super star before he even got to college. He was to average a triple double (Points, Rebounds, Blocks) from the moment he stepped onto an NBA practice court. The man was to be a God and we were all to drop to our knees and worship him. The hype was as bad, if not worse, than the hype surrounding a high school sophomore named LeBron James who had his high school basketball games televised around the world. We were to offer our bodies and souls to the man who was to save the earth.
Therefore, when I saw this man, who appeared to be 55 years old, and a clumsy disoriented fool on the court, and I weighed what I saw versus what I was told was going to change my very life, I ripped a fart and changed the channel.
Ever since then I hated Greg Oden and wished nothing but the worst for him. It's my right as a fan of the game I was told was going to change forever due to his very existence. All it did was make it worse. Good riddance and good riddance to his jock riding blind ass fans.
I will say I commend any man who reaches his 50s and decides to go back to college to complete the degree he never got. However, why he bothered with sports, is beyond comprehension.
