Bet we make the playoffs if he comes. Actually, if Eddy starts playing well, we can make the playoffs without Iverson, though I'd sooner try to do it with him.

I think Douglas off the bench for Hughes and Iverson is a good idea. Duhon should help with Towels and stuff like that...

Briggs, why Gallo coming off the bench? Dont you think you'd want the team's best shooter on the floor with Iverson driving and Curry posting up? He'd be taking wide open bombs all day

The team's best shooter that put a doughnut up last night? That best shooter?

Gallo's got to come off the bench in scenarios where he knows he's out there to take over.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The amount of points he scored or didnt score in one game does nothing to change the fact that he is the best and purest shooter on the team. I said best shooter, not highest scorer. There is a difference. He didnt score in that game because he only put up two attempts.

Curry and Iverson are going to bring the play to the hoop and collapse defenses, leaving open shots. My question stands, why not put him out there in a scenario that is going to get him more open looks?

Part of Gallo not getting shots is the PG, but Duhon actually had a pulse last night and Gallo did nothing. He worries me. He knows he's the best shooter on the team. He knows he should be taking shots because him taking a trey is more efficient than anything we've got except a point blank shot. Even with all that, he just kinda... stands there. Very strange.

start Gallo & Harrington is the 6th man... knowing MDA he'll figure out a way to get Fishlips & Duhon into the rotation tho

Not sure if Gallo's inactivity is a confidence thing (because it's really like this is his rookie season) or a back thing. Really hoping it's the first one

totally agree. i'd add Nate Robinson in there, too, because I hope he can contribute. and we know jeffries will continue to have too much of a role.

I should've added in Hill as 9th man which I will edit

however changes
Duhon--out
Gallo and TD--good minutes off the bench to develop and produce while doing so
Jeffries and Nate -out of rotation but can fill in at times FT energy change of pace etc..

It's possible another deal could be in the works as well that could free up a roster spot and move Duhon and Jeffries. I know Ellis isn't very popular around here....but....his agent is meeting w/GS today.

if we sign AI forget about any trades for Ellis, cuz it's not gonna happen.

Im not sure that DW would do a trade for Ellis unless Curry is on his way out. Only sending out JJ in an Ellis trade hurts 2010 cap space

FYI we'd have to win at a 54% clip to get to 40 wins on the year.

orlando: tmac and ghill

also, if it's clear that the Free Agent is set on leaving, sometimes teams wind up arranging sign and trades which help out both teams and allows the under the cap team to not really have to renounce everything. Orlando did this for Grant Hill and Toronto did this for Hedo. it can happen and I have to think it's one of Donnie's options this summer.

if toronto knows for a fact Bosh is leaving, would they take a package of Nate/Chandler/Jeffries or something? that'd create enough space for two max deals.

also, if we don't renounce everyone and officially go under the cap we get to keep our MLE and LLE for summer of 2010, which would be HUGE in building a team. i'm sure donnie is aware of this and will try to work with whatever team we sign guys from.

Ellis put up season avg. numbers against Boston last night(18 points, four assists, four rebounds and three steals). Rumor has it Boston has a pretty good defensive team. I would think that kind of consistency is worth looking into when your team is inconsistent at best and a team might be willing to let him go for basically nothing. I'm can't say that GS is trading him, but I am saying that we should be keeping an eye on it. My hunch is that he will be moved. Next year, AI will be gone and we don't have a starting PG. The names of FA's being tossed around don't play the point so i think it's important to have the position solidified this year if you want to attract a guy like LBJ. That's all I'm saying. Granted, you don't like Ellis, but he is a good player and a definite upgrade to anyone else currently on this roster.
