i'm guessing dallas would be a spot for him with josh howard going down.

but the guy is a crackhead that's owed $11/year for 4 years after this one. the guy can ball tho...

maybe cleveland for z's expiring? lbj would keep him in check...or he and delonte can shoot up the arena...

If possible, I'd make a play for him. I really don't have much faith in a 1-81 team attracting a top flight UFA. I'd feel much better going for Ellis and adding two other UFAs, as BRIGGS said, like what Detroit did with Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva. THat may have a chance of happening. Not to mention I think Ellis is perfect for

But I did start a poll on this a few days ago and damn near got my head ripped off

I saw this the other day. Are they still shopping him even after they let Jackson go?

Would be interesting if we could Curry for him, but you'd have to measure him against the 2011 FA's. That's who we'd be giving up.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Not quite because having Ellis here would likely draw better UFAs here in 2010. You also have to factor that into the mix

before the Knicks/Warriors game Ellis and Nelly got into a spat and the *speculation* of Ellis getting shopped began... it being substantiated is new news but not really new news, because the Warriors are going to be restructured around Curry + Randolph

Azubuike is out for the season. They need someone to share minutes with Maggette. Timing could be right for Chandler to be shipped out in a deal for Ellis. Mobley/Chandler would work. If they want to move Bell, Chandler/Jeffries/Mobley for Ellis/Bell. Curry matches up with Ellis straight up, but they have Biedrins and Turiaf. jeffries could help out and eat some minutes while they tend to their back (B) and knee (T). Jeffries and Chandler would add some needed defense (they sure don't need any more scorers) and both are unselfish passers.

Lot's of possibilities here.

The only scenario I would accept in trading for this knucklehead with a big contract would be a Curry/Fishlips for Ellis/George/Claxton swap.

If he fails here then we only have to worry about one bad contract.

I looked at this the other day and I think that if you trade Curry and one of the young guys for Ellis then we gain marginally more space for 2010 free agency.

This could be wrong but here's what I just read

News: Azubuike (torn patella tendon) will undergo surgery this week and miss the rest of the season, the Contra Costa Times reports.

This is Bell's status

News: Bell will have surgery to repair a partially torn ligament in his left wrist, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. He'll miss four or five weeks at a minimum and could miss the entire season if screws are needed to repair the injury. "I'm going into it, assuming it will be a big surgery," Bell said. "If I wake up and it's not, it's icing on the cake. I'm prepared for the worst-case scenario, and I'll go from there."
Spin: The Warriors knew of the possible surgery when they included him in the Stephen Jackson trade, so he's obviously not part of their plans.

Warriors' Kelenna Azubuike out for the season, C.J. Watson has swine flu
By Marcus Thompson II
Oakland Tribune

The Warriors learned Monday that swingman Kelenna Azubuike is out for the season and that guard C.J. Watson tested positive for swine flu.

According to a team source, an MRI on Monday showed the injury Azubuike sustained Saturday at Milwaukee will require surgery, which means the patellar tendon was torn in his left knee. The surgery will be scheduled this week. Recovery time for this type of surgery usually is five to six months.

Watson is being treated according to the NBA's mandated precautionary measures. He will not be with the team for the remainder of the road trip, which concludes Wednesday in Boston.

The Warriors started the road trip last Wednesday with 10 players but now have seven healthy players for today's game at Cleveland. Golden State is flying in forward Devean George and suiting up center Ronny Turiaf just in case. Both are recovering from knee injuries, but the league requires eight players dressed.

In addition to the loss of Watson and Azubuike, the Warriors traded a starter in swingman Stephen Jackson and an ever-improving reserve in guard Acie Law.

Forward Vladimir Radmanovic and guard Raja Bell, who were acquired Monday from Charlotte, were expected to join the team in Cleveland on Monday night.

The Warriors are hoping Radmanovic will play today. Bell, however, is not expected to play even though he played in the Bobcats' last game, Saturday vs. Portland. The Warriors are going to evaluate the
torn ligament in his left wrist, which Bell has been playing through instead of having surgery to repair.

I thought it was interesting the other night when Jeffries headed to the locker room without any apparent injury and sat out the rest of the game. There could be a possibility that GSW still has an interest in JJ2 and were close to a deal (I can only dream) and with Jackson gone, Azubuike out, Bell out, Bierdrins walking wounded ect....they could be in need of someone like Chandler who can play the 2/3 and JJ. We are in need of a PG...who knows, maybe the stars just aligned for the Knicks

A Duhon/Jefferies swap works. I'm not sure what kind of team player the guy is but he scores at will out there and you can't guard him.

I would hold onto chandler they appear to be in full dump mode. That's a pretty good talent and you are only adding 5 million to the cap next season so you are essentially signing him for the mid-level in that case.

Ellis-Douglas-Gallo-Chandler-Hill

Call me crazy but that doesn't look all that bad for a free agent looking to come here.
