Maybe this will end Duhon for goodsies.. though in reality it will probably just take away time from TD

I said in the preseason that AI is significantly better than the entire roster. Everyone here is on one year deals and GONE after this season. Let him play for another contract. Considering isn't getting the young guys enough burn, why not? Regardless of whether or not there's a long term deal in place, you know AI will play hard (at least on offense... so he'll fit right in).

I went hard this summer too to get Iverson....This is a dead season...Iverson for a year would be a nice rental...

But yo.....Imagine next year? What if Lebron does sign??? Iverson is a nice guy to have on a team with Lebron. Iverson and Lebron could easily play together....that would also attract other dudes to follow.

9-1 in favor? (I'm the loner in saying no?)

LMFAO wowwwwwwwwwwwww....

There should be a follow up poll:

What happens when we sign Iverson?

* Knicks go 44-28 to finish the year, make the finals, win the finals.
* I miss Isiah
* Why did we trade Zach he's beasting with 20/10!
* Fire Walsh!
* All of the Above! Knicks 2010 NBA CHAMPS baby! Haters fall back! Whooooo!!!

Iverson chucking 35 shots a game and making 9 is attractive to LeBron?

In what universe?

Did no one watch Denver with Iverson?
Did no one watch Detroit with Iverson?
Did no one witness the Memphis mess with Iverson?
Does no one know it's not 2000 and our team isn't comprised of 14 high IQ defensive monsters willing to do all the dirty work not caring Iverson is gunning away every play?

Unreal.......

I get that AI certainly is far from the most attractive acquisition. I get it. But in which universe is the status quo more attractive than signing a former mvp/scoring champ/all star? This team sucks and there is no risk here. If he's detrimental to the team, do exactly what Memphis did. I bet AI is better the second time around this season than the first

When the status quo entails:

*Building a winning attitude.
*Developing youth.

Iverson comes here you got a malcontent with a disgraceful attitude, a bad influence, and a guy that will take minutes away from Toney Douglas.

It's a losing scenario for us.

No reason to take on Iverson and I just hope this will be the same as the courtship of Jason Williams, Jamaal Tinsley, etc - and end up being nothing.

Hopefully the Cavs will try to step in and sign him with West gone. Then I can breathe a sigh of relief.

Besides: What on earth is Iverson going to do for our record? NOTHING!

YOU GOTTA BE FRICKIN' KIDDING ME.

I'm disappointed in all of you here, now, today. This guy is the cancer of all cancers. Why do you think NO ONE wants him???

Put it this way, would Iverson be on the Knicks if Isiah was here? uh...YEA.

WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH?!?!?!

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

I vote no. I think D'Antoni & the coaching staff have enough on their plate. As currently constituted, if we continue to suck with no 3+ game win streaks, eventually we'll just just be a joke and a footnote in the backpages and maybe the story will just be Toney D or Gallo's development, with eyes on the draft (groan) and 2010 FA class (shudder).

A.I. comes? Press goes ape****. Fair-weather Knicks fans & A.I. fanboys come out the woodwork. Everybody gets hyped. And then disappointed. We end with 25 wins, with all sorts of stupid soap opera backpage drama all year. The heads of our rooks get all cloudy with the locker room drama (see Lee, David; Robinson, Nate). Then the lottery & FA B.S.

I don't think our coaching staff & front office can handle Iverson and still develop our team in a positive direction.

Voted yes. Anything to get that Dudu abomination out of the rotation, or at least out of the starting lineup.

Id be shocked if we dont pick up Iversen.

Reasons why--we have 72 frikin games to go--you can't give paying and committed fans this crp and to be blunt honest--it starts with Duhon. Id rather the Knicks sign fishmike from his community league roster than watch Duhon shoot 10% let along AI--who played well in his little stint with Memphis

He's not going to slow/stop anyone's progress--name me one player he did that to

His teams have always been competitive--he carried a team to the finals and won 2 games there and also has been in the playoffs multiple times

Downside risk with the move= absolute zero upside --we start winning games money is not an issue as it will be a small 1 yr contract

Like I said no brainer--in fact I cant believe that the vote is 9-1 it should be 25-0. And Knicks management should heed the words of the fan here--while it's a small poll--it's a good one in this case. At the end of the day basketball is also entertainment and adding AI would enhance the fan's
experience.

End of story--Mr Walsh go get AI!

I agree 100%. Start him and have TD back up both guard spots. Have Larry be AI's running mate in the starting lineup. Bench Dudu and Fishlips.

It is no-brainer...
No harm and they will get some tickets sold.
And if somebody is afraid that minutes will be taken forn DuDu and SupperNate... you are terribly wrong.
Nobody needs this "guards" to have the minutes. They are not is our plans and everybody in NBA knows what they are...

We don't need to add another player & more salary to get Duhon out the rotation. All Mike has to do is give 'em the hook, give his time to Nate & Toney.

Knowing what we know so far about the coaches & front office, do you think they are thorough enough to be able to handle the yellow journalism ****show when A.I. suits up, plus develop our keepers, scout the rest of the league for trades, keep their eyes on the next two years of draft classes & the F.A. market?

If this year is a wash, why not just concentrate on the future? Not ego-stroking team meetings and 30-minute press conferences after each practice or non-practice. I like A.I., I just think the NYC press are jackals and largely a waste of time for an organization that has that much work to do. Why invite them in with this signing?

In a heartbeat. This season is out of control. We have no talent and no one that can score on this team. We need to stay relevant.

Douglas-Iverson-Gallo-Lee-Curry-Nate-Harrington-Chandler-Hill-Hughes roll with that 10 man rotation at this point who cares. We need to get some sort of winning combination. Or trade Jefferies-Duhon for Ellis or some combination.

i think this is a no-brainer. sign AI to a 1-year deal. if he's a problem, he's gone.

the knicks don't have a go-to scorer. they desperately need someone who can do something with the ball in their hands. they are 1-9 and don't have a first round pick. AI is a first ballot HOF. got to.

knicks should sign iverson b/c the season is lost anyway.

but there was alot of talk here about this year being about developing and the system. iverson comes in and it all changes. it will be about him scoring 30 ppg while the others try to play with him. do you guys know what you want?

Can coach A.I.? This is not a no-brainer considering how horrible the Stephon situation went down. Why sign A.I. and give him another project like that? I don't buy relevance or watchability. Likely scenario, we end the year with looking like a chump and then 2010 FAs stay away. We are rebuilding. Why complicate it?

none of the players are smart enough to run the system right now, so it's not really being run. So no big deal, right?
