Weber said the Hornets expect those results to improve – sooner rather than later.

“Our expectations are high, our sense of urgency is high,” Weber said. “Our patience is low.”

when you have a core of paul, west, okafor, peja, posey and mo-pete -- and a team that was a number two seed two seasons ago, you should have high expectations, no?

He used the word expectations and he held someone accountable. It sounds like he is in charge and is behaving like he is in charge. It would be refreshing if that happened in NY.

don't worry, the knicks are in unique position to make half the roster accountable. for once, we'll be able to fire the players. "sorry dog, your bird rights have been relinquished. can you send larry in?" "hey larry, sorry duke we relinquished your rights. can you send in al please?" "oh hey there al, about your bird rights... uh yeah, they're relinquished. one more thing, send in darko. thanks" "hey darko, tough year huh. yeah. relinquished. as in, your bird rights. on the way out could you..."

you're watching it happening in new york. the whole point of hiring donnie and mda was to hold people aaccountable, and they are. you think you can clean up a CF that huge overnight???? what the hell, man?

We haven't had a sense of urgency in this town in 10 + years with the Knicks. The only team in NY with a sense of urgency is the Yankees. in NY you should be able to come into any season feeling we have a chance to win with our payroll. Does anyone from the Knicks organization say---Our expectations are high, our sense of urgency is high,“Our patience is low.

When we have a guy like that running the team we will get better--not before.

Whatt?? It's because of that unreasonable sense of 'urgency' that isiah thought he had to 'rebuild on the fly'. that's false man. there is TOO much urgency, not enough patience.

Yeah that guys sense of urgency is firing Byron Scott whose went to two finals and made the Hornets into overachievers. Real good sense of accountability down there in New Orleans.

I have always been on the fence about Scott as a coach. While in NJ some things came up that would cause concern and I am not sure if he changed or if his personnel and assistants just did a better job for him. Remember in NJ he was famous for his naps. His assistants didn't think he watched scouting tapes so they set up a tape so that they could tell if he watched it and he didn't. His substitution patterns were so routinized that you could time them to the minute and it didn't matter if the guy he was taking out was on fire or had an incredible mismatch.

Three years ago I would've been impressed by that roster but now--not so much. The wings are, at best, mediocre. West and Okafor are good but there are better at their position. I'm underwhelmed by their team. That said, they should be a 5-8 seed and possibly in contention for more. But that team is a second round loser

That's right. The problem was that Isaiah had a sense of urgency. He gutted the team's future to win now. When the draft comes next June and Utah is taking our pick, ask yourself if having a sense of urgency is better than patiently building a team.

Who is holding Donnie accountable?

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Can't build a team in one offseason though. For me I'm looking to be acceptable to good next season. It's the 2011-2012 season that we better be a very good team. It starts this offseason of course but it would take the following offseason (summer 2011) to build upon what we did summer of 2010...complete the team so to speak.

Can't do it all at once. It's just not going to happen. We don't have our Paul Pierce and I don't see us adding a KG and Ray Allen.

For us, our "celtics offseason scenario" would be: Gallo would have to literally become Dirk this year, and, we'd have to dump Curry, and have to get LeBron - AND - Bosh or Wade - to complete the roster quickly.

Not...going to happen. Expecting to be great next season is putting expectations too high. We must score this offseason though. We must. Even if it's two "all-stars" if you will instead of one max. We must do it. But then we'd have to "find a max player" in 2011 to add to that core.

I totally agree with you here. Seriously, people just cant make up thier minds. First they kill Isiah for the lack of patience and building on the fly. Now, Walsh is the villian for not moving fast enough. Which way do you want it? Walsh is doing the right thing. We are finally in a position that many of us thought was a myth. Executing a plan, following through with the plan and getting us into a position to sign FA's.

BTW, please dont compare the Knicks, a team that has to deal with a Salary cap to a team like the Yankees who can spend freely....

Two years ago they were a top team in the West. Two years ago we were the most embarrassing organization in the world. We are both starting from different points. They aren't tearing down, or building, they are looking for someone to get them over the hump. When there's evidence that someone can't do that, you get rid of them. That's what good teams do.

We have been horrendous for 10 years. We are tearing this down so we can begin to build. How can so many intelligent people not see this?

I just hope that people will like me
