I'd read MDA the riot act, tell him that chucking 3s is not an offense and the team has to practice defense in order to play defense.

1. Inquire about any possibility that Javlee Mcgee would be available--Im willing to give up Chandler or Lee for him.
Trade anyone that has a one year contract for the best assets I can get and if possible a bundle deal including jj. Play Jordan Hill 25 minutes. Also tell Danillo to move around without the ball and move in from 30 feet away.
Get EC on the court for the next game for 15 minutes. He's 26 and ready to go.

if i were MDA, i would:

start the kids & instead of trying to compete for the playoffs this year being my main focus, i'd start focusing instead on developing the guys who will be here past this season (Gallo, Chandler, Hill, Douglas) & give up on trying to pump up Jared Fishlips' non-existent trade value... i'd also try & get Eddie Curry back into the rotation asap to see if he could give me something this season, cuz we do know that he can play if he's in shape.

if i were Walsh, i would:

hope like hell that Eddie Curry comes back & shows teams he can still play & try like hell to dump him for any expiring contract at the trade deadline... i'd also look into trade opportunities using our own expirings (Lee, Nate, Harrington, Hughes, Duhon) to obtain future draft picks & scrub expiring filler or to dump Curry or Fishlips' contracts.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

If I am Walsh I fire MDA or reassign him. I would make the indispensible Herb Williams the interim coach and start a search for a guy that is more authoritarian, coaches defense and will hold the team accountable for poor play. Clyde was talking about how Holzman used to work his guys extra hard after losses saying, "You make my life miserable I will make yours miserable." MDA ended the game day shoot around. The group of guys in place are not knuckleheads but they need leadership, guidance, play calling and accountability. I don't think their getting that from D'Antoni and I don't think it is in his make up to be that way. As part of the hiring process I would insist that the new coach outline how he was going to play and develop the two rookies.

I would trade anyone on the roster to get rid of Jeffries. If you do that, and it takes Chandler or Gallo, then you basically have a blank slate, which is better than having a mess.

Curry can't be moved at all if he doesn't play and play well. If he does play and play well, then he doesn't need to be packaged with someone to be moved.

I would try to buy a pick again and get one of the five or six big PG's and if they're gone, then I hope Larry "Gumby" Sanders is there from VCU. He's the closest thing we could draft to make up for missing McGee. If you haven't seen this dude on YouTube, it looks like he's holding up two brooms, like in a coaching drill, but its actually his arms.

I would use the Mobley contract too. I don't understand why you take that off the table unless $ is suddenly an issue here.

I'd hold a tryout at Rucker Park for the Knicks last open roster spot this weekend. It would be great extra programming for MSG, and you know what, I bet there's someone there with crazy handle that can play point in a pinch. What's Felipe Lopez doing these days? Omar Cook is averaging over 6 assists per game in Europe right now. Give him a call. The PG situation is an emergency, and I'd treat it as such.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Anyone think Mike is really the problem? Bring a Princeton offense guy in here and we might win a few more games this year, but what does that accomplish?

The Suns are killing it this year using the same system.

offer that cheap homer (Shin?) in NO a big $$$ package.

Paul/Ok4/Peja for Hughes, Harrington, Mobely, Hill, Chandler, cash and a future #1.

Always easy to say there is a better trade out there (Pau Gasol) but that saves them like $9mm this year and about $40mm next year. Then he wont have any payroll and can sell the team to Seatle

I heard an interview with Shane Battier today talking about the Rockets success. He was saying that they can't make any mistakes, and they need to run and shoot up alot of threes because their center is 6'6". I don't think their roster as currently constructed with injuries is better than the Knicks but I think they are coached alot better and they play defense.

if the hornets trade paul, then the franchise will either relocate or be sold. it should've never moved to new orleans in the first place.

First I'd see if this deal was possible: Duhon to Memphis, AI and Stephen Hunter to Charlotte, Raja Bell to NY
Then, I'd auction off Nate, Lee, and Harrington for rookie contract asset(s).
Lastly, I'd make break in the younger guys

thats what I said. The only reason they didnt move out of NO in the first place is it would have been a PR disaster for the NBA right after Katrina.

Thats over now and Seatle wants their team back. Gut the payroll, add a couple young players and move the team to NO

like the idea but having lived in New Orleans, I've seen how the NBA has marketed itself to the city. I can't see the team being sold or relocated, even though no one gives a **** about basketball there. Maybe enough time has passed since Katrina but I just can't see the sale

You wouldn't trade a guy who is out of here at the end of the year anyway for a 7'+ guy who can jump out of the building and is on his rookie deal?

I'm with Briggs on that one.

That GM is one of the best young GM's in sports. You don't think they're constructed better than us?

They have two good PG's, Ariza and Battier. You wouldn't trade our whole roster for that?

I would trade anyone on the roster for Battier. I think he is a great guy to have in the locker room and would be a great addition to a young team.
