that's how many plays i saw tonight from d'antoni.

he ran an inbounds play to toney douglas twice.
he ran a screen play for al harrington twice.

that's it.

the rest of the game, 4 guys on the perimeter, 1 big trying to set a screen and a whole lot of nothing after it.

one on one trying to score. guys pulling up from 18+ feet out. gallo left to fend for himself. not one person crashing the offensive glass.

meanwhile darko has his ass permanently cemented to the end of the bench with jordan hill twirling his dreds.

and y'all think d'antoni is gonna use eddy? lol.

not good.

is anybody coaching the team?

If I owned this team he would be fired--simple. I don't like anything about how this guy runs the team. terrible coaching and the players dont play hard--what is left?

We need to change to a more conventional coach who believes in having two big players @ PF and C and demands and gets respect from his players to go 110% tilt. This is the worst we have been in 10 years.

d'antoni has done a crap job. there's no evidence to dispute that. no plays and it looks like some players actually got worse from last season. and he's not playing any big men. what can you definitely say d'antoni has done for the team in a positive manner? and i ain't alone in this thinking.

Knicks are going to run outta coaches....I think D'antoni should stay.

As far as his plays, he doesn't really call plays...its an offensive philosophy...problem is the players are confused. well not everyone....there are a few players that need a heavily structured offense cuz they don't know how to even play basketball to begin with.

Donnie and D'antoni have to play close attention to what they have and make an attempt to improve. 2010 is over the Knicks head right now...so it may not happen until then. I think we just have to deal with this for the time being.

Benching Duhon, Wilson and Jared would work wonders.....those 3 guys are momentum killers. They all are completely lost. They need to be taken out of the starting line-up until they catch up.

I agree he hasn't been great but if it we're up to me, he doesn't go nowhere until I see what he could do for me as a recruiter in the off-season. If he's directly responsible or plays a big role in bringing in a top FA like LeBron or Bosh, I'm willing to forgive and forget and start anew next year with hopefully much better players. Can't get rid of this guy before this big FA period. If, on the other hand, we don't have a great off-season and whatever team we put on the floor next year struggles like this after 15, 20 games, then yeah, I might look into possibly making a change if we needed it. It'd be crazy to not let this guy work his magic with some of these FAs though imo - it's part of the reason he was brought here. Whether you believe it to be overhyped nonsense or not, playing for him as a coach does have a good deal of appeal in these players' minds..In the meantime, he needs to work harder and make much better use of his roster. Absolutely..

Cuz he is the anti-LB.

I don't care if D'antoni shows up drunk and high and hits on chicks in the crowd all game long.

He is our most valuable asset.

Once we get some players in here, then we can worry about the coaching.

D'antoni is not a genius coach. I've said this before. He is reknowned for what? His PHILOSOPHY. His WIDE OPEN style.

Did you guys not ****ing watch in PHX?

I'm watching the game now...

2 plays??? thats exaggerated. When Hughes came into the game the ran something different every time down. Again problem is the talent level. The Knicks arent that good. Compare the Hawks roster to the Knicks....there is no comparison.

This second Quarter has been filled with good basketball....why??? No lie...Wilson, and Duhon were not in the game!!!! Nuff said!!! Get those bums outta the starting line-up!!!!

How quickly we forget the Indiana game !

Knick killer "Jarret Jack" is in Toronto, no Troy Murphy No Mike Dunleavy etc.... and they out work and play us. Cmon man this team lacks confidence regardless of who they play.
Dahntay Jones at 6"5 has 19 points and 12 reb against us. Ford comes off the bench and simply destroys the backcourt after sitting for an extending amount of time and seals the deal 101-89

+1. guy sucks as a coach. his "genius" was lucking into steve nash. look at what nash is doing now without mike d. is gentry now a stud coach? no, it's on the players. as larry said, you need a coach on the floor.

guy ran away from phx and the bulls job because he didnt want to be told that he needs to tell his players to play defense.

and shouldnt darko have been put in there to beat horford down? d lee sucks. I hope d lee never plays in ny again after this year. he's soft, undersized, and crappy at the 4 and 5. he hustles hard, which is nice - for a backup.

I think he's absolutely the right coach right now. Who believes this current group of players is going to play hard like that? 75% of the team is gone next year. You run these guy down in practice and they arent doing anything for you. DJ/Briggs... are you really saying that Tom Thibodeau is going to push Al, Duhon, Lee, Hughes, etc to be a good defensive team?

MDA isnt the guy thats going to squeeze blood from the stone. Your 100% right about that. He needs guys that are going to play hard because they want to win. Thats not our team, and thats not this roster

i am a d'antoni fan. i want him coaching in toronto.

but let's be objective about it - the guys hasn't done anything noteworthy here. he's getting paid top notch and nothing's improved with the team. players haven't improved and he's not even using his whole roster. so stop defending the guy like he's done everything possible and he's the victim here.
