The others not mentioned should be history as well. I know, I know, give Hill a chance, and we will but there's nothing to discuss with him.

Duhon, Harrington, and Lee, our supposed 3 best players (which is why I mention them), are showing why despite their individual talents, they hurt you more than they help you. I'm sick of them. Including Lee's double doubles. Honestly, all that does is mask increasingly poor play from him.

Douglas, Chandler (even though I'm hard on him and with good reason), and Gallo are clearly the only three players who deserve to remain. Chandler, though, needs a kick in his ass still. Too many dumb mistakes and too many poor shots taken.

Jeffries and Curry are ours next year by default not by choice. Hill will also remain but jeez someone beat this guy up already and get his ass in gear.

The rest can pack their bags. No two ways about it.

Notice we played our best not just last night but at other times so far this already finished season... when Lee, Harrington, and Duhon were SITTING ON THE BENCH cheerleading. I don't think that's an anomaly.

Last nite - when we were down maybe 3 late- Harrington has the ball and starts doing his LJ impersonation, spinning to the basket, head down.

Meanwhile, our HOTTEST shooter, TD, is outside, both hands up, wide open.

Harrington proceeds to try a fancy pass to Jefferies, turnover.

Harrington is a really good role player, and is trying to do too much.

I'll take that over Duhon.

Coach needs to say thanks for the effort, just slow it down, don't try to do too much.

Agree though about your observation, and have noticed many of our runs have featured Lee cheerleading from the bench.

Odd place for a Ten Million Dollar Man to be, though.

I vividly remember that play. Not only were his hands wide open, he was asking for the ball- I think he flicked them to catch Harrington's attention.

This kind of thing has also been done to Gallinari.

Guys have to get the ball to the hot or dependable shooter when he is open. Simple as that. Douglas was in a zone yesterday, and there was a good chance he would have made that shot.

But Harrington doesn't have the kind of skill to make that kind of play. He's limited.

To some degree- MDA needs to recognize their limitations, and perhaps draw up some plays that they have to execute.

you can't have al on this team, no way. he says he wants to win, wants to be a team player, but it's impossible for him. he doesn't have the capacity for that. sure, you love him when he catches fire and drops 30 or 40 points, but how often does he have 4-14 games like tonight?

sorry Blob, I'm just not emotional about it right now. I don't freak out when he drops 30, or when he bricks 30. He's a good player and has a great attitude and he busts his ass out there and plays aggressive. His Defense is also getting better and things happen when he's on the court. Right now, his first step is soooo good, no one can guard him. This guy came in to camp in better shape than anyone else on the team and it shows. He has earned playing time as far as I'm concerned

This is a very team oriented system, and the fact that multiple players have started out cold makes the whole thing kind of grind to a halt.

You have to have the defense respecting the outside shooters. If they play off of them, and the shooters can't make them pay for it, then we get down by 30. Which is what has been happening.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

no doubt about it, love his atitude, everything about the guy, i'm sure he's real cool and stuff. but i really don't think he has the capacity to change into what we need him to be. he's always going to be a 'put your head down and force it in' type of player. i don't think al realizes this, he just can't adjust his game it seems.

plus, what we have on the knicks this year is a very bad mix of veterans and youngs, given the circumstance. these aren't veterans that will stay long term, so they have no incentive to work with the young guys, who will be here long term.

it's just a horrible mix of players.

i was drunk yesterday and reading this book on systems thinking. it stresses that the success of a system is not so much dependent on the individual parts as it is on THE CONNECTIONS between the parts. so i thought about the knicks, and it made sense. just a bad mix.

I agree on almost all points....

IMO....

Lee has been awful this year --- his defense in particular has been as poor as anyone in the league (particularly considering he's an athletic player who should have the ability to defend). His offense has been selfish.

Duhon -- is just awful right now. He is the most unatletic point in the NBA who combines that with crappy shot selection, turnovers and horrid defense. What a combination.

Harrington is unwatchable....I fast forward every second he's on the court. I never thought someone could replicate Jamal Crawford's negative impact on a game but AL has done it.

Jefferies -- oh god. He is a great pre-season and practice player --- at games (we all know he really sucks).

Jeffries should also sit and Hill should play at least 20 minutes a game.

i like jeffries more than harrington to tell you the truth. i hate seeing harrington in the game, like livinglegend said. i don't know, i didn't really study this, but last night when harrington came in we seemed to lose all cohesion...you take al off this team and we're 2-7 instead of 1-8.

And it still was. Al is a slight downgrade, in terms of destructiveness.

I said this too in another thread. I don't care if the Knicks play 4 on 5 the rest of the season, Hill, Douglas, Chandler, and Gallo need their reps

Ok, here's what TD tried to do last night. Check out this crazy move

Duhon, Harrington, Lee... should sit. Douglas, Chandler, Gallo... should play.
