Everytime he gets the ball, i'd say 9 out of 10 times he does something good. Weather its make the right pass, drive, shoot, whatever... The kid makes good **** happen.

He needs to be more aggressive and demand the ball more, but if im D'Antoni i run more plays for him, actually the PG really needs to be spoken to.

Last night he hits a 3, the next time down they dont even look for him.. if someone gets rolling you gotta GO BACK TO HIM

Definitely, but the biggest problem is that people like Duhon and Nate hate on Gallo and freeze him out, as someone pointed out in another thread.

How is he getting frozen out? Gallo needs to handle his business and be more aggressive just like half the other players on the team. He needs to extend his flashes of brilliance into a consistent effort.

Not knowing what Gallo is going to bring from minute to minute is hurting this team.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Im definitely not one to argue but come on man!!!

You watch any of the games?

Its a fact!! When Gallo gets touches our offense does better!! Only player on our team people on other teams even worry about!!

How can you say kid needs to handle his business? 17 points a game basically a rookie!! Are you insane?

He has beyond handled his business and if we had any other PG he would notice that!

And beyond the points Gallo has done everything and beyond of what is asked of him!! EVEN ON D!!! Best one on one defender on our team so far!! Definitely by far best decision maker on team!!

Gallo needs more touches for sure!!! He does all this while being ignored by DUHON and Al!!! and I mean IGNORED!!!

I want Gallup to be the go to guy too, the #6 overall pick should get the green light from the coach 1st. The coach is either afraid to tell the team to get gallup the ball everytime down court or players are doing there own thing knowing they are on a 1 yr contract.

Lot of team "politics" involved in turning over the team to a 21 yr. old virtual rookie.

I am a big, maybe the biggest, Gallinari supporter (wanted him at 6, would have taken him over Love at 5), and suffered a lot of fan grief over his situation last year, but it is hard for MDA to just declare him the go to guy after having played fewer than 35 games in the NBA.

Work on some specific plays for him. Set some screens so he can get some room to shoot or pass off on the pick and roll. Isolate him down low against some of the smaller guys who guard him. If he performs, guys will recognize this and realize that they will benefit from getting him the ball in certain situations. You don't want to put too much pressure on him. He should be able to play point forward every now and then, but he is not ready for Lebron-like control over the team.

By the way, did anyone notice the little moment between Gallo an Hill. Hill set a pick for Gallo, but did not roll to the basket(looked like he dropping back to set up for a jumper. Gallo's pass went off the leg of a Cav and went out of bounds. As Gallinari was walking around, he faced Hill and made a subtle hand movement with his left hand, letting Hill know that he expects him to go to the basket on those plays. Just thought it was an interesting moment in the game. Wonder if Hill will learn?

Yea I noticed that gesture by gallo, so you think hill doesn't know what a pick and roll is ?

Or could Hill just like to play on the Perimmiter like another univ of Arizona big man Channing Frye who like to pick and pop. Maybe Gallo doesn't know who he's playing with.

Do you think Gallo has the endurance at this point to be the go to guy? I don't think he has ever played an 82 game season, he's young and not fully developed physically and appears to me to still be getting himself in shape. I'd like to see the team look for him more but I'm not sure he's ready to be the guy.

Guys are too brainwashed with the thought of getting an open shot. Open shot doesnt mean 3pter or long jumpshots outta rythmn. Knicks players have a lot to learn about the game of basketball. I think Lee is the only guy that gets it.

You guys calling for Gallo to be the go to guy don't get it either. I understand allowing him to get more touches, but I think what JohnWallace was saying is Gallo needs to take the initiative and stop looking to give the ball up everytime. He needs to be more Al Harrington and just freelance. The freelancing is part of the whole scheme of things. I'd rather Gallo do it that Duhon. I wanna kill myself everytime Duhon cans his own number.

That will just come casually, Eny, that taking the initiative. He is still feeling his way around and is in a unique circumstance...the respect from the other guys will come with that initiative and then he will take over the knicks. He will take the Knicks over by the end of the season.

I'm hoping he does do something...everytime he touches the ball the game changes.

The latter. He is used to working with Lee, they will have to work out things. If you watch the play though, it looked like Hill should have gone to the basket for a drive or a short pull-up if Ilgauskus (sp) rotated properly.

An interesting and subtle little exchange, though.

Politics over a 21 being go to guy?

Gallo needs to freelance more?

He isnt ready?

Gallo was a pro in Europe for a few years!! He was the go to guy!! Handle the ball up the court!! He proved he can handle both roles quite well!! If I remember correctly Lebron avged close to 30 points a game at 21!! Kobe 25 with shaq in his prime on same team!!

The difference is they got the ball in there hands enough times to be able to continually do it!!....... I am for anything that works and even though I wanted Gallo even b4 we drafted him I'm all about team ball and W's!!

We have yet to win last few years!! We are at 37% clip in winning games!! So why not turn the reigns over to our MOST TALENTED player now?

Thats the point!! He is our BEST PLAYER he should dominate the ball on offense no doubt about it!!

Live and Die with your best player!!!

Not a IQ test!!

Umynot,
Gallo played 28 games last year and most of them less then 30 minutes. Before that he did not play against NBA players and Kobe and Lebron are exceptions not the rule. I'm all for him getting more touches and perhaps by the end of the year even being the guy. But I think it's a lot to put on a young guy, who is not fully developed physically is coming of an injury and has never played 82 games in a year. I hope it happens but I expect we need to be more patient.
