Donnie Walsh said Eddy Curry will be evaluated Sunday and is expected to be practicing with the Knicks by Tuesday.

There has been some speculation that Curry is now under 310 pounds but another rumor is that Curry knows the Knicks will try to trade him and is not eager to assist the team in that effort.

After recurring injuries to Curry during training camp, Walsh, perhaps under the direction of James Dolan, ordered Curry to workout and condition himself away from team practices.

I know it is just a rumour, but it sounds like that piece of **** Eddy to dog it so he doesn't get traded. That is probably why he keeps getting injured. Anyway I hope this is just a rumor and we can get him on the court next week so we can showcase his fat ass.

Why would he want to stay here? I'd be looking for a fresh start if I were him.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

That would be stupid on his part. If he wants another decent contract he needs to come back in shape and put up some good numbers these next 2 yrs if he gets traded or not.

Hopefully the part about him being under 310 is true though.

parts of the rumor don't make sense to me either. NY doesn't have an inside presence or a big man (Darko ain't cutting it so far). If Curry was soooo good enough to be traded, he also may be good enough to stick around or get that next contract some place (which would have to be the ultimate prize).

If you think about the space that Gallo opens up in the middle. Curry in any type of decent shape would have a good opportunity. When the ball goes up on shots, he will have a lot of space and opportunity to get offensive rebounds as well as score in one on one coverage down low.

How old is Curry? No real love for basketball or a lack of confidence? Acidic D'Antoni as the confidence builder no doubt.

Curry is 26 years old. He wouldnt be the first guy to grow up late or have a decent career while not being passionate about the game (Derrick Coleman?)

Coleman actually had some pretty good years with Kenny. Curry is just all lost potential.

They have to find a way to void that player option.

its funny that he would try to dog it because he's gotta play for his next contract. by him doggin it he only hurts his personal financial situation. and, we all know eddy has $ problems so, you would think it wouldnt be to his advantage to dog it right?

Dude, at this point, what idiot GM is going to get suckered by Eddy "turning it around" at this point.
If he gets a MLE he should be ecstatic. I'd say if anything it will be closer to the league minimum.

I don't see anyone in their right mind offering anything to this guy till he get's some serious burn in game. He has had a lot of issues but could still help this team. Curry looked strong a couple years ago. If he could get back to that point he can help. It's a long season though. Still time to have a significant impact.

The NBA would be such a different animal if they had NFL contract rules. If you could just cut a dude that wasn't performing... you'd have much more of a warrior culture in the league instead of an overpaid baby culture.

100% agreed.
At a bare minimum, they should be able to cut players that are out of shape, for God's sake.

How stupid would he be to dog it, ESPECIALLY with his financial problems. One would think that he'd be ready and pumped up to go no matter where he would play, so that he can eventually get a nice contract extension. The Knicks have been more the generous to him too, so I would think that this would just be a rumor. Whoever started that "He's dogging it" rumor sounds like he or she is trying to start some trouble. Curry even said himself that he would help the Knicks even if that means him getting traded.

And losing weight in any way shape or form is NOT dogging it. It's obvious he's done at least some work this Summer but just had awhile to go.

7+ footers with solid low post scoring ability don't exactly grow on trees. And Curry (fat and lazy though he may be) has demonstrated solid low post scoring skills. He needs to play so other teams can see what he offers. But a lot of teams are built on the inside/out game, for which you need a guy with size and ability down low. Eddy has that covered.

He can't even stay on the court!

Hello all (newbie her)
Don't understand EC is the story is accurate. EC may not want to help NY trade him but, one would think he'd want to show he can perform so some other fool GM will take a chance on him. As it stand, with the new economic climate, I doubt anyone will poney up $$'s to sign him
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt
