Long time lurker... but I just can't take it anymore, so I had to post. Besides making these guys run more than everyone else, what does D'anfraudi teach them?

Defense is atrocious

Offensive-Awareness is atrocious

Passing is mediocre

We used to always say that the mark of a good coach is when the team has a well-drawn out play after a timeout. When was the last time we actually saw that? Its always drive and kick, a desperation shot, or a turnover. I'm sorry, I understand this team is full of middle class mercenaries due to 2010... but they really should be better than this. A good coach, and this team might have 3 wins.

As per the commercials for the D'Antoni show, he speaks italian and rocks an awesome stache. Is that a good reason?

imho, it's becoming clear that he is not good at developing players. give him some players next season and see what happens. right now, he's not doing anything better than any other coach in the league.

I am not quite sure what he does or teaches. It isn't working and he isn't developing his young players. This team is not going tmake the playoffs and most of the guys that are getting minutes are not a part of the future. He is very lucky that he plays for an owner and gm that have a plan that includes no expectations for success or improvement for his first two years.

good adjectives. What adjectives would you use to describe the skill and talent levels of the players on this roster? No need to break it down player by player... just glancing at the 9-10 rotation guys from a talent and skill standpoint. How would you describe the group over all?

Words like mediocre, atrocious and well below average come to my mind.

What coach is going to change this? Lenny Wilkins is a great chemistry guy.. lets try him. Larry Brown is a great defense and fundamentals guy... lets try him. Isiah is the great players guys... lets try him. DAntoni is the great offense guy... lets try him.

See a pattern?

Whats coaching got to do with it??? Whats coaching but a 2nd hand emotion?

We need better players. When we have those and the team looks lost lets talk X's and O's

D'Antoni is in an entirely different situation from any of the guys you mentioned. Isiah as a gm was a drama, center of attention person. He was always doing things to draw attention to himself, to make the big splash, and to flex his power. The situation was very dysfunctional for all of those guys. D'Antoni knows that he is backed by Walsh and Walsh has removed alot of the dysfunction that was left behind by Isiah. The Knicks as an organization are at least behaving in a professional manner. All D'Antoni needs to do is coach. He doesn't have to worry about a gm who minimally is a narcissist, and possibly a sociopath. D'Antoni isn't doing a good job of coachong, he isn't winning and he isn't developing his young players. His team has looked unprepared, and unmotivated. That goes on the coach.

Dear everyone: You guys refuse to listen to Bip. I told you that the year we said "it was okay to quit on LB because he's mean to us" that this would haunt us for a long-time. Our core players were either a part of that team or taught by someone who was. We are infected. I have seen this before at all levels of coaching. People think I'm off my rocker, but as I said then, I'm saying it again now, we are infected!!!! Unfortunately a shot is not enough to get rid of the infection

I just hope that people will like me

Stephon, Jamal and Eddie taught Lee and Nate who taught Wilson who taught Gallo who is teaching TD, Darko and Jordan. Throw in Larry Hughes(what is his reputation again?) Jared, Al and the rest and the history of bad habits gets passed on from generation to generation. It's an infection that you don't see unless you've been through it. Then it's obvious. The reason why teams that rebuild solely thorugh the draft take so long to improve is because they have no true winner vets to show the young guys how to behave off the court, how to handle tough situations on the court, and frankly how to win period. Our two vets(guys that have been here the longest) have no idea how to win. All they know is that when the chips are down, it's okay to give up. You see it every night here for the past what 4 years??? And yet, I'm still questioned. Truste me, the Bip knows what he is talking about.

If you want to rid yourself of this infection you have to have an influx of veterans(who have won and can still play) to change the culture or to find that one superstar that forces everyone to listen. If you continue to build on top of this with other mediocre players that have not won, you are just going to spread the infection to them. I said this when everyone said "it was okay to quit on LB because he's mean" and I'm still saying it. Everyone thought I was crazy then, and they still think I'm crazy now. Well I am crazy, but I'm also right.

I don't think we can win with his coaching philosphy. Without enough emphasis on defense it puts to much pressure on the offense to be perfect every time down the court. With players having the green light to launch a three when there are clear setup situations we are setting up for failure. 'Antonio's system requires 2 or 3 all stars to be sucessful.
My coach back in the day used to say "work the system". seems to be beat your man 1 on 1 or jack a three.

Passing around the perimeter for a three point shot may be great if you have the right personnel, since we don't how about trying a new strategy. Missed three pointer means long rebounds and ultimately fast breaks for the opponent. Averaging 35 - 40 three point attempts a game with this squad is just STOOOPID

have no fear guys, our savior is returning soon according to Walsh:

Eddy Curry has not been cleared for practice yet, but it's coming soon. Team president Donnie Walsh said Curry will be reevaluated Sunday, and that he expects him to be practicing by Tuesday.

Eddy brings the type of leadership this team has been lacking so far this year.
