that was a funny hughes moment, he's pretty good player when he's playing good. just wish he could do this all the time. i say mda starts him next game, sits chandler. it's worth at this point and well deserved.

cosmic you should get the other shot, the view from the baseline

dirty play,,, he was tripped intentionally by the philly player. the league needs to review this.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Yeah was weird.
But Hughes is a much better fit at SG than Chandler right now, who could benefit from coming from the bench for a while.

Props to Hughes for bouncing back!

If he can continue to play like he did last night you are right- however, he also has a reputation for overshooting the ball.

... But it was a pleasant sight to see him play like he did last night.

Hughes isn't a great 2, but he's a good 2. I think he's the best defensive player on the team.

I wouldn't mind seeing him start at PG for a gsme, see how it goes. Duhons game is pretty limited, tho the kid tries.

I could see Hughes providing vet leadership at 1, with the added threat of a midrange game and penetration.

he was still a little sloppy but he can reign that in and just he's our best perimiter defender for sure, he's like spiderman

I would rather him run the point than Duhon.

Duhon is killing us. I would try to ride Hughes at point. Chandler's fine, he's just a mess when the offense is a mess, and right now the offense looks unbelievably bad. He's just not a, beat you one on one, kind of player yet. When he's wide open, he'll nail a three. When he's shooting a ten foot jumper with some space, he'll make it. When someone hits him cutting to the basket he'll dunk it. He's not able to get himself shots, and if the offense is this bad, he's not getting into those ideal situations too often.

Hughes
Chandler
Gallo
Al Jr
Jeffries

That's the lineup I guess I'd try for next game. Who knows what you'll get from this team, but you have to reward the guys that are having success at this point.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I'm just going to wait until Hugues goes 0-7 and the boos come out again.

I'm done here.

haven't followed Hughes his whole career but I think the knock on him is that he is not the best decision maker. In a non-structured offense like MBA employs, that could be a bad combination. Could be that he needs a better leader or 2 on the court with him to maximize what he brings.

Yeah, Orange, as I record I stop recording when play stops so I missed the replay. Oh well.

As to Hughes, if he could even do this just 3 out of every 5 games he would be our starting SG.

I don't know where he pulled that game from...so I don't really expect it to continue. It would be nice if it did. He once had the skills to do it. Maybe he's like Penny all over again - flashes of brilliance mixed in with crippling physical problems that make him play like trash. Who knows.

All I know is I feel there is no excuse for our starting lineup not to be:

Darko
Lee
Harrington
Hughes
Duhon

But...some of these players are just simply idiots, or drunks, or just plain lazy. I don't understand.

Harrington played the game of his life off the bench & Gallo did too in the starting lineup... i say we keep Gallo in the starting 5... also think we should keep Chandler in the starting 5 even tho he's struggling right now, but wouldn't mind starting Hughes for a few games just til Wilson gets his game back to normal cuz it looks like he's a little confused right now.

agree w/u on Darko tho, Fishlips should not be starting games... hopefully when Darko's knee gets better MDA will see things that way too.

So, if Hughes is the player of the moment, my new lineup is:

PG-- Hughes
SG-- Harrington
SF-- Gallinari
PF-- Lee
C-- Darko

BTW, Lee really has the worst defense on the team.

You know I gonna spin wit it

True, but, I just don't know how that will last. I doubt Al is all that keen on it even if he's saying and doing the right things.

Another thing I dislike is us starting a SF at SG. I know in certain game situations it will work but I don't need to be seeing Gallo or Chandler or Harrington playing SG let alone starting there.

We're log jammed that is for certain. Makes it all the more curious what we will do when we're looking at LeBron or Melo in the future - we have enormous SF talent on this team now.

i think Chandler gives us a good mismatch at the SG position & he's athletic enough to guard smaller SG's on other teams... we need to expose that mismatch & post Wilson up a little more instead of having him floating on the perimeter so much & launching up 3's... kid was a PF in college at 1 point, he's got a good inside game... we should use that to our advantage... we used to use Q Rich that way & it was effective for us in several games i saw... i think that will help Wilson get back into the flow & his shooting will improve as a result... Gallo can float on the perimeter cuz shooting is what he does best anyway... have Duhon & Lee run the P&R's & alternate Wilson & Al inside on the post up cuz those 2 guys give us favorable mismatches against other teams' smaller SF's & SG's, i think that's the way to go personally... Wilson & Al will have enough perimeter shooting opportunities too i'm sure, especially in MDA's system... Nate can come in w/the second unit & do what he loves to do, which is play 1 on 5 while Hughes plays ballhawking D on the other team's orchestrator.

I think it's time to move Chandler out of the startingi lineup.
Duhon, Hughes, gallo, lee and harrington is a solid starting 5.

I've seen a couple of plays where Chandler has no lift.

He's a waste starting until his explosiveness returns.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare
Hughes played well tonight.
