This is probably only one coach out there who can turn this thing around immediately. Never got past the second round but also never had a team with overall talent or a management that was willing to spend

The game has passed him by, that's why he isn't coaching. IT'S A SHAME BECAUSE HE ISN'T THAT OLD.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Football and basketball are two differnt sports. Vermeil team is unraveling atthe end because he has no more emotional tears to kep the chiefs focused. LOL Many teams had an opportunity to hire Fratello, it's not like he's been in hiding somewhere. Vermeil wasn't even around the game when he got the call.

While I dont agree with Playas reasoning, I do agree with the fact that Fratello is not our guy. New York needs a MARQEE coach, not some scrub overacheiver.

If the guy could coach he would have been in Memphis, or GoldenST or LA Clippers , Atlanta again he sucks that is why he sits at the table with Marv.

playa2: Fratello might not be a perfect fit for us but he definately does not suck. I dont know why he hasn't taken the Atlanta and Golden State jobs in the last few years but u have to admit that he would be better than some of the coach's in the league right now.

The league saw Bill Cartwright for a year man! Fratello is definately better than Cartwright. The problem is that he needs the right situation to do well. The Knicks are not a good situation for him.

Anyone else surprised about Terry Porter? He is doing really well in Milwaukee.

IMO Fratello isn't what we need on this team. It just feels like too much of a risk.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

no one is concerned about lon kruger? he had a talented team last year in atlanta, a team on paper that should have made the playoffs and did nothing. you think he will make a difference here? as far as fratello goes, hey, he is exponentially better than chaney. you over look the fact that he took cleveland, a team who had terrell brandon and bobby phills and after those two a severe drop off in talent to the playoffs. granted during the playoffs he did nothing but what could his team do against ewing withour daugherty ( even is they had daugherty what could they have done). he is a clown on tv but when it comes to coaching he is respected and a good strategist who can produce.

if i would make a risky move i would try to convince lenny wilkins to come back. i think he had a bum rap in toronto because of the numerous injuries and the disgruntled diva in vince carter. he is still one of the best coaches of all time and he deserves the spotlight coaching the mecca of basketball ( even though they have been looking like the garbage heap of basketball).

I will definately take Lenny Wilkens. He is a good coach and the Toronto thing was just a bad memory. He is not only a good strategist he is also a good teacher. He will create a system that will adapt to the strengths of this team and its players.

Y'all get that ABC, Anybody-But- Chaney!

Lenny WIlkins sucked, game passed him by. Lambeier? Mahorn? Thomas? Are you kidding? Change for sake of change could make it worse. Ever think of that?

What team are talking about replaceing? This current group of softies, or the young team we are building on the IR in stealth?

My take is if chaney gotta go, give it to ans assistant for the year. Then figure out what are we going to do, keep patching this team with bullshoyt, or commit to youth. Then pick a coach that can best do that.

The brand name retreads suggested are nice to talk about, but its the Terry porters, that dude in Denver, or perhaps Jerry sloans assistant, that makes sense. Take a rising figure in a successful system and promote him and install it to a group of players that can compliment that system. Hiring those thugs from Detroit may toughen them up, but will it win?

Hell, bring in Rick Barry for that matter, He is an *******, but he might be worth the risk!

I rooted for Laydog to do well and turn it around. I root for Isiah to do the same. Should be interesting to see what him and Dolan have cooked up.

I hope this brings some big change. This is dolans move. That makes it really weird stuff!

Likely Laydog could not bring himself to fire chaney. Maybe Laydog got sick and told Dolan to stick it, and got fired. WIth a big damm settlement.

In any event, I hope Zeke is as good or better than his boy Joe Dumars and can turn our team around.

This does not make all the players disapear. But we have hope, and y'all will fork over the bucks again. IM still boycotting, I want to see substance still. Im patient.

Congrats to those laydog haters.

PS: I still want to see Spree and the wolves get a whoopping!
