lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Briggs, pretty sure we can't trade Lee. Not with his one year deal and the stipulations that go with it prevent that unless he wants to go to Washington.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I could have sworn that I read that Lee would lift his no trade clause. Perhaps I'm wrong. With or without it though, it would still be hard as hell to trade him since he'll be an unrestricted FA.

Washington will ok...like you mentioned they have McGee and they got Blatche. To hell with them man...they have a really good team on paper.

That's right. Lee can refuse a trade. If the Bullets offer him a nice long term deal, he'd probably take it.

They're not trading McGee. They're not trading Young. We're not trading Lee.

So....you could do:

Jeffries for Mike James (ideal for 2010 for us)

or

Harrington (a shooter who they would prefer to replace Jamison) for Mike James and a 1st rounder (which wouldn't be that high of a pick).

BTW I would do that trade and I bet David would flourish over there with the WIZARDS. Mike James might even be decent here.

Defenetally good trade for David.
His agent should jump om it.
But Walsh will not even turn to other side on the bad.

I believe if Lee is traded he loses his Bird rights. If that is the case there is no way Washington could resign him next year.

Would Washington want a 1 year rental?

Not sure that idea would fly with Washington. I don't think they'd be willing to give up on McGee's potential even for David Lee, who they'd then have to turn around and sign long-term. I doubt they'd give up on Nick Young too - to me McGee & Young are quality young players that could be studs. And they're both salary-controlled for the next 2-3 years. I wouldn't give up on them if I were in charge of the Wizards..

If they rejected that proposal, here's a deal that might benefit both clubs:

Al Harrington for Mike Miller, Dominic McGuire or Paul Davis & their 2010 2nd rounder.

Harrington would give them a very similar player to Jamison (that scoring hybrid 3/4) & it would free up more time for Young at the 2 spot. Young would then probably wind up with a starting role next to Arenas. Arenas & Young would form one hell of a dynamic backcourt. Harrington is in the final year of his deal so in case he didn't work out there, there's no financial obligation past this year for Washington.

For the Knicks, D'Antoni would finally get a natural 2-guard & legit outside threat for the first time as Knicks' head coach (not some crappy volume shooter that he's had to deal with so far like Jamal Crawford & Q-Rich -- Miller's one of the top outside shooters in the league & a productive player that would help maintain our 'win now' mindset). We'd get a decent cheap role player in either McGuire or Davis (not sure they can deal Paul Davis yet though, they just signed him as a FA in Sept. but his contract may not be guaranteed) and also a 2nd rounder that could land us a decent rotation player eventually - for a team that can potentially lose so many players, aquiring an asset along the way helps the Knicks at this point... Chandler slides over to the 3 where he probably belongs. We'd be able to take on the extra player in McGuire or Davis once the Mobley situation gets resolved which is expected to happen soon (apparently they're no longer interested in dealing Mobley's contract. As a result of his retirement & an upcoming hearing with the league, they expect Mobley's contract to come off the books with a bulk of it being picked up by insurance. I'm assuming a roster spot should then open up as a result). Doing this deal would also ensure we got some value for Harrington - Al's another player that could leave for nothing at the end of the year (if he puts up another 20 ppg this year, Al's gonna want to get paid and I can't see how we could keep him unless he took a major pay cut).. Harrington wouldn't have to approve a trade the way Lee would...

Not sure Donnie would do this deal - he's infatuated with Harrington - but I'd do it. I think it works well for both teams. I wonder how bad Jamison's shoulder really is..

thing is with lee you can get back say two young rookie contract players by making a trade deadline deal with a team on a chip run. no such luck with al-- most likely you will get a vet for vet exchange, this will get messy and at best be a lateral move for the knicks. losing al harrington for nothing is lots better than getting something back that doesnt tie into 2010.
