For Miller, the unexpected competition is only one of a handful of issues that have made it challenging for him to get settled with his new team.

I feel Miller on this one. That's some ****. I mean, at least tell the guy he would have to compete for the spot. Totally deceived him. Poor guy.

I don't know, did he sign and the question "Am I going to be the starter?" never come up. A bit of that is on Miller.

Is Brucwe relataed to Kevin Pritchard? I dont feel sorry for Miller if he doenst want to compete then go take less money.

Well if he knew he would have to compete in Portalnd, I am sure he would have signed elsewhere. It's just that he was in one mindset and came in now having to change that mindset. You just don't do that to veterans.

You have to compete wherever you go Miller has already made a lot of money. You can tell this guy doesnt really want to win he just wants be the man and get paid a lot of money.

Well i'm not gonna judge his will to win, but when it comes to signing as a FA, often times you make your choice not just based on money, but also what your role will be in the new team. I don't think he felt that starting was in question based on his career as a starting PG. He may not be some peoples cup of tea, but he's a legit no. 1 in this league.

He could've gone to another team where starting wasn't in question at all. Then again, when you're getting paid what these guys are making, you can also look at it like "hey man, just shut up and play" or "bust you butt and you won't have to worry about starting or not."

I feel the last part, just shut up and play, and I would be the first to apply that in the case of a pissed off player, but not here. Andre Miller is a veteran leader, a winner, and a professional. You don't bring a guy of his experience, his prestige, into a position where he will have to compete with some punk kid for a starting job. If you werep lanning on putting him through that, you shouldn't have signed him. We're not talking about Stephon Marbury here, we're talking about a guy that has earned his stripes, paid his dues, and he was due a little bit more than this. Pritchard is a jerk.

I been saying Portland is an idiotic organization. They like to sign and accumulate talent and not use it. They have a huge history of it.

How can you say this guy has done a bad job? Wouldnt the coach Nate be the one to blame he is the one that makes the decision who plays and who doesnt. Dont put this on the GM.

Roy and Blake are tight and while it may not have been negotiated I think (even with the knick youth) that the new guys have to earn their way to minutes in order for the coach to keep his locker room together and for the new guys to also earn that respect. Blake is a very intense guy and well liked in the locker room. I think McMillon is right to let Miller earn it as it will keep order and respect.

Miller is likely the better player and he should have no problem getting the starter spot and starter minutes. If not, then he is where he should be.

We not talking about lebron here, we talking Andre Ass Miller!

Yeah, it should be Kevin Pritchard. This issue should have come up, so if it did and Miller was told he would start then I understand him being upset. I think Miller is their best PG, so he should win the competition in any event.

it's a fortunate thing that some of us are not people with any kind of authority or managerial position in the nba...

miller is not a "poor guy," yet the verbally pure view of things from a club/angry (often) working class fan perspective (i.e. "shut up and play") by some is beyond lacking in perspective of how you would feel about taking on a job that promises you one thing and then does another, when you have shown the ability -- for years -- to be a starter.

he can always bag groceries. john starks bagged groceries and tried out for ANY job on an nba roster he could get before the knicks made him a legend. no one likes ingrates, sprewell learned that lesson the hard way. this dude should stfu and feel blessed he plays in the nba.
