We know he's out of shape for MDA and the Knicks. But I was wondering would he be considered out of shape on a different, slower, more traditional team? What do you guys think? Because I am sure he has played at 317 before in his career and played significant minutes. What gives?

He can't even make it through camp without hurting himself. He's out of shape for a local rec league.
I just hope that people will like me

Any team would run on a team with Curry on the floor, so even if they walk it up on offense, he's still going to have to run.

And... that dude needs forever and a day to set up in the post, so its not like you can take your time getting down the floor on offense either.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

bip hit it on the head. real question to the uk mafia crew is this: lots of us (me not inlcuded) were willing to give curry a chance to be in shape and compete this year and finally turn his career around. now that he has proven he cant even stay in practice, does anyone here still have confidence that he can succeed this year or are we all done with him now?

please consider the following factors when making your decision:
1) all the focus on him being out of shape last year
2) the special weight and conditioning coach he had this summer
3) the 4 visits by walsh and company to check on progress over the summer
4) he knew what he needed to do to be in shape for this season (i.e.: lose weight and gain wind and stamina)

Considering those points, no, I would not think so; no confidence. But the thing that makes me think he can play at some level this season is that he is with the team now, in their hands, and once this injury heals he will benefit from those mandatory 2 or 3 a day conditioning exercises.

only reason he is with the team this year is because he's under contract to be here. dont get it twisted - there is no other reason imho obm.

right, of course, so now that he's with them he's going to get worked until he's in shape. they have nothing to lose.

eddy is not an athlete. his body is just going to keep declining as he gets older. it's going to get harder and harder for him to stay on the court with the horrible shape he keeps himself in. see: jerome james.

if eddy wants another contract in the NBA, he should think about, i dunno, trying to get in shape.

I said it in the other thread, Eddy needs to get under 300 lbs. He is just too big for his muscles to safely handle the weight. I know he has broad shoulders and is a big guy, but his trainers need to drop him to below 300. IMO that is the only way he is going to be able to play 60-70 games.

and that shouldn't be that hard. for a guy of his stature, losing 20lbs is like us losing 10lbs. run/lift and i dunno... practice some basketball?

the most telling thing about this is that eddy had a trainer all summer until the end of august - he comes into camp a month later, not looking that thin and clearly out of shape. that means in the month without a trainer, his training fell way off and he probably gained back a lot of what he lost.

he's worthless.

i can't believe some people thought he'd be putting up 14ppg on 55% this year. he's never putting up 14 again.

The Eddy Curry situation is just never going to go away. He just may be the worst contract the knicks have ever had...and that's saying a lot when you consider the contracts they've had. Maybe Allan Houston's was worse, but we did get some insurance money for that...
