Now, usually I'm not on the "why didn't we try to sign this guy" bandwagon of hell - but - a guy like Bogans would have been GREAT for us.

Yet, all the same, it's understandable that a guy like that would sign on to a championship caliber team like the Spurs.

Yet, wow, what a signing! Bogans....could easily be our starting SG. Not sure what that says about us or about him but it's quite true.

I thought Wilson was our starting 2. Would Bogans start over him? If Wilson is not the long-term answer at the 2 would Bogans be? If he's not the long-term answer at the 2 then why would we sign him?

A Keith Bogans signing deserves an exclamation point?

When a championship aspiring team grabs a guard that could start for almost half the league it's quite a signing, so yes, it deserves an exclamation point.

What's the problem?

Besides, so many people wanting to kill Donnie Walsh where he lies because he didn't lock up a mediocre player in Sessions to the max MLE - but a superior player in Bogans being signed by a potential championship team goes unnoticed? Go figure...and par for the course I suppose.

...and Bip, anyone penciling in Chandler as a starting SG for a team who wishes to push deep into the playoffs needs their basketball acumen checked.

Chandler is a nice bench player for a good team at best. Only on Knick internet forums is he some sort of God. I'll never understand it.

Keith Bogans? Other than the fact that he's a 29 yr old journey man who has shot 39% for his career and worse than that the last few years, barely got playing time on an injury riddled Bucks squad... why WOULDN'T we want him?

I grant you, he'll fit in on the Spurs, where guys like Bruce Bowen just have to defend and wait for a wide open shot at the three point line courtesy of Manu, Parker and Duncan. but he would have made ZERO sense here. we need guys who can move the ball and shoot the ball.

Sessions made more sense because he could move the ball and create shots for others. But Bogans? Seriously? If he could start for half the teams in the league why didn't he start for the Bucks, the 10th worst team in the league?

Keith Bogans? Seriously? You do realize they also traded for a guy named Richard Jefferson, have Manu Ginobili back from injury, still have Michael Finley and they have a nice young kid in Roger Mason? Bogans will get spot minutes backing those three/four guys up, at best.

Ur trippin' ...whatever you're smokin' save some for me when I finally hit NY so you can pass that shyt. Bogans is trash.

I dont think anybody has anointed Chandler around here. We're just excited about his potential --- as a 21 y/o he is already very productive. Just picture Chandler playing for the Blazers or the Bulls, then maybe you can embrace him.

1. He's better than anyone we have.

2. Yep, he'll fit on the Spurs, because they know how to build a team. That ought to speak well for the player himself, right?

3. Sessions sucks. 29 teams will agree with that assessment.

4. Yes, and, in their tradition, they will find a way to work him into their rotation, and make it count.

I'm talking about a team who's fan base for whatever reason has annointed Wilson Chandler as the #1 guard in NBA history and a franchise cornerstone for the next 20 years.

Why this has happened I have no idea but I can guarantee that Keith Bogans would put Chandler on the bench where he belongs for those play the "starting 2G" game.

Eh, we didn't "lose out" on sessions, it's just that our management refused to overpay for him, unlike some on here that would have given him the MLE MAX and promised him the starting PG position for the next 15 years.

Oh, well, I guess 29 GMs felt he wasn't worth it. Imagine that!

But, as to "losing out on Bogans" I didn't mean to suggest that, I was just saying it's a good signing by the Spurs, of a player who is very good, and if we HAD signed him he would be our starting SG, of which...probably doesn't speak well of us, but, would have been nice all the same.

Somewhere in there....

really? At 22 years old and 2 years of pro ball you can make that assesment?

He's the exact same player this guy was at this point in his career:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/stats?playerId=2760
but I guess because he's a Knick he could never reach that kind of potential right?
