“But I like that we’re not sitting around, waiting around, putting all our eggs in the basket and saying we’re going to wait for 2010 because we want to have [salary] cap space to get players you might not be able to sign. The do-it-now approach is very motivating, for everyone

We're in a much different position than teams who have had some success in recent years or have been able to draft a stud to build around. We need to go for the gusto and see if we can get that brass ring. Are the odds great that we'll end up with Lebron? No, but there's no better risk to take than to have a chance to get the best player possible.

We're trying to build a championship contender, not just a good playoff team. Raps look pretty good on paper. they seem like they might be this years version of the Magic to me. But just a little less toughness. Not bad by any stretch, but I think they come up short in the end. I don't see them getting past the semis.

Bosh kinda sucks. Sorry but if there was an all-overrated team Chris Bosh would be starting right next to Greg Oden, Andrea Bargnani, T-Mac, and Ricky Rubio.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

We don't need any boshes here. BBal is not German sport.

Wow, we really gonna bash Bosh over that statement.

In the short attention span life of a mega paid semi star he is just saying they gonna hava an exciting season were some teams are just saving the cap.

Knicks are in no position to sign a Hedo or semi all star player.

Toronto did good this off season and did what was good for them.

Bosh expires this season and he should be plenty happy teams are clipping coupons and saving cap space as he benefit directly.

You guys really upset he made such a comment? Are we really deserving of any positive comments yet?

We are trying to get a player like Bosh. If we had Bosh, we wouldn't be sitting around either. Completely different scenarios and surprising that Briggs would compare the Knick situation to the Toronto situation. Again, who in this free-agent class was worth hurting our cap space for?

I don't care that he made those statements. Whatever.
However, my position stands as it was before. I would not offer Bosh a max contract.

Don't want anything to do with Bosh to be honest --- much prefer Amare to Bosh.

In fact Bargnani is the best player in Toronto already.

Briggs, didn't you say recently that we must go for LeBron and Wade at all costs recently?

i would love for that to be the case...time will tell...

but i think alot of people are really undervaluing bosh. remember, the guy was coached by kevin o'neill and sam mitchell, just turned 25...a model citizen and a great teammate while still putting up 20/10 every year. while lebron + wade are whining and moaning about something, bosh has been professional throughout.

We've been doing what he said since 2000. Time for a new plan.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
