Korver, Boozer and Harpring for Lee, Jeffries and Mobely. Lee's first year can start in the $6-$10mm range and still fit.

Utah's payroll is insane (over $80mm). This trade doesnt force them to take on any additional payroll and offers immediate savings (Mobely's $9mm) to a team mired in luxury tax hell.

For the Knicks it gives them much needed flexibility in dumping JJ's contract and gives them some usable pieces moving forward. Korver's shooting would be usefull and if Boozer can give you 50-60 healthy game (hey, its a contract year) I think the Knicks are better than they were last year.

Most importantly it only leaves Curry left to move, and I still think he comes in able to play and is moved out of here by Christmas (see Zach + Crawford).

This would be the first step to a scenario like:
Chandler, Gallo, Hill, Douglas and $40-$50mm in cap space to build your team.

both expire at the end of the year. Korver owed 5.1, Harpring 6.5 and Boozer makes 12.6

Korver definatly gets a role on this team because he can really drain the jumper.

i'd so go for that, man. but i'm not a fan of korver getting chandler/gallo minutes, although, i am afraid to say, that he would be a great fill-in..in case...just in case...

harpring we can let rot.

Isn't Matt Harpring about ready to call it quits anyway?

maybe. He played a lot of games last year I think though. Knicks might waive him.

Yes.. Jazz matched on Milsap. Deal still makes a lot of sense both from BB and $$ standpoint.

Milsap's contract is interesting and prompts another discussion

don't think anyone would want Lee and Milsap on the same team for a combined $15 million or more.

also, Jerry Sloan likes defense which might be a problem for lee.

they gave Okur a lot of money and he never lifted a hand on D. I think a Milsap/Okur/Lee frontcourt looks pretty good for that team

Isn't that the same rep with Booz too?

I don't think Utah trades Korver. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but their record is significantly better with him than without him. Seems to be a nice fit there

I think he would end up being the starting SG here.

Remember.. this isnt just about BB. This gives the Jazz a huge financial break this season. Its also possible Knicks toss in the always popular "cash considerations"

Would Boozer's salary be figured into the 2010 cap even though he would be a free agent? I know that if Lee signs a one year deal other than the QO his contract takes up cap space in 2010.

The Jazz will move Harper when Utah bans Polygamy
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

not at all. All three guys in the deal are expiring. Every expiring contract has a "cap hold." That is to prevent a team from using cap space to sign a FA, then go over the cap by resigning their own guys because of the bird rights.

this was a very well thought out trade proposal that obviously took fishmike the better part of his weekend. i suggest you write it down and mail it to both kevin o'connor and donnie walsh.

THis deal seems to help Utah this year, but will cost them more in the following years. Why wouldn't they just let Boozer expire or trade him to a team with cap space for a draft pick? They just signed Milsap, so unless Lee is willing to take $6 mill per, I doubt they want to pay him $9 mill to be their backup.
Trust the Process
