I have a confession ... if the Nets move to Brooklyn, I turn into a Nets fan. I love the Knicks. But I love Brooklyn more. You all can have at me. Had to get that off my chest.

Actually after thinking about it, it would be good if the nets move to brookyln...that way we'll see who the real knick fans are and it'll push the knicks to have some pride of their team history.

I'm a Knicks fan because I live in NY. But if I live in NY and live in Brooklyn then thats a no brainer. I'm gonna become a Net fan. Better management, better players, yeah I think the real NY fans will love to have two teams more chances for title.

You stole my thunder man! But I would root for the Nets only because I want to boycott knicks management. I root for every other sports team in New York without prejudice even though I have my favorites but basketball is different. Its only Knicks for me.

No, Brooklyn is the Center of the Universe. Brooklyn deserves more than just the Cyclones. We deserve a professional team. Brooklyn basketball team in the NBA? Can you imagine the hype when we get hometown guys playing there, on national TV playing pro ball for Brooklyn?!

bernard, I'm with you. There comes a time in a man's life when he has to take sides. If Brooklyn gets an NBA team, I'm there. Pro sports returns to Brooklyn after 47 years. I can just see it now.

I am from Brooklyn too, and root for all the NY teams...
It's just hard to even fathom rooting for the Nets. It would take a bit of time for me to be comfortable doing that.

Imagine a team with "BROOKLYN" across their chests... Damn, it's been a long time coming.

It would be just the kick in the Azz that Dolan and those fools need though. They'd have to scrap that motto too: "One team, One NY".

I am so disgusted with how the Knicks are being run, I would be happy to see better b-ball management in the city.

DefandReb, I am with you all the way. Brooklyn is the center of the universe. When someone represents Brooklyn, there's a whole other flavor to it. One thing for sure, it wouldn't be about being soft, timid or getting punked out. Not representing BK. The Brooklyn state of mind is the opposite of that. Hopefully a pro team in BK will absorb that same mindset.

I don't want to even think of how the rivalry between the Knicks and Nets would intensify... I love my Knicks, but am seriously becoming disenchanted with the management changing the personality of the team to be so punkish and corporate-oriented. I also can't forget that home is where the heart is...
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Great Knick teams I saw was the last 73' run, and two Net championships in the ABA. I saw the lost ABA game, a great come from behind to win the last ABA championship.

The knicks turned down Doc J for payment of reparations to enter the NBA. Layden was in Jr High school then! Not his gig. They sold Him to philly, and that was very tramatic to us Net fans. Back then, the Knicks were the class, but the nets were the renegades and put on a hell of a show. The NBA was scared of the ABA talent. Nets selling Dr. J was like the Redsox selling babe ruth!

But the split was we loved both the teams and they did not compete in the same league. ONce the Nets hit the nba, they quickly became a joke, moved to Jersey, which we thought it was very silly.

Being from Brooklyn, I could see an affection for that team if they moved there. I would not expect this current team to be together much in 4 years. The team would be dead meat in jersey, and should play out on LI. They would draw better.

Im glad we got a team back in the carolinas...........

I never got into the hornets. Dumb management! We loved LJ here in his prime. Mourning was awsome, but real grumpy. He'd freak out all the time. The dude needed to be a tad softer, he would just lose his mind out there and we thought he would kill some one. They and Miami would lose games getting torqued out. Mourning looked like poster boy for roid rage.

Knicks always first and formost. I do wish the nets well. I prefer the knicks win the next ring.

Nix and Nets would be a good New York thing.

I recently saw the model for the proposed Sports Arena. Here's the link:

This is the main article from NY Newsday:

By looking at the pictures, it looks like it's gonna be kinda fancy.

Fuk all you cracked heads! There can only be one team in NY.

ONE TEAM ONE NY!
Get with the program! The Nets belong in the Suburbs, leave them alone.

What would GO NY GO NY GO mean if there is another team there? GO MANHATTAN and GO BROOKLYN doesn't sounds as cool.

There's an LIRR terminal on Atlantic and Flatbush, right near BAM and the new Target/office complex. It's Fort Greene, basically. Downtown Brooklyn is crazy with construction and new business right now. Eventually, we may have to secede from NYC altogether. That would solve the issue Silverfuel brings up.

I'm a relative newcomer to Brooklyn, never used to understand why people from there were always so proud of it, but it took no time for me to convert. I love NY, but I love BK even more. This is where the melting pot starts. This is where the immigrants and working people who built this city live. Hey, no disrespect to the Bronx and Queens, but they just don't have the character, or the characters, Brooklyn has. It's a special little vortex of humanity. I guess you have to live here to appreciate it. It has the best of what makes NYC great, but it's also got real neighborhoods and communities. Manhattan is an awesome spectacle of a place, but it's like living inside a giant machine. Brooklyn is a place to live.

I just hope they change the team name, get rid of the "Nets" stigma. C'mon, who else thinks Brooklyn Knights is a sick name?!

When that complex is built, Downtown BK will look even more like Manhattan than it already does. That proposed site is right near my house, and it's already a clogged traffic area. See the big difference MetroTech made on downtown already?

It is a good location if traveling via train, though. Nine lines intersect at the Atlantic Ave/Pacific St. station as well as the LIRR. Long Islanders (Nassau and Suffolk counties) and queens folk can get there from the LIRR and city folks and the holdovers from NJ can take the subway. That's probably why they are remodeling that train station right now.
