I'm on my phone so I can't copy and paste but it's front page on realgm. If Walsh pulls this off...can we finally get off his back?

Here's a link. Seems pretty speculative to me.

With Minnesota Timberwolves' President David Kahn bound for Spain this week, some feel the trip isn't necessarily to bring Ricky Rubio back to Minnesota.

One insider tells RealGM's Alex Kennedy that Kahn could be working out a scenario where Rubio would be dealt to the New York Knicks.

"The Knicks have closed off negotiations with all free agent point guards until next week. I think they're making a push for Rubio and if that fails, then they'll reopen talks with their other options," says the source.

"Kahn and [Knicks' President] Donnie Walsh are close and New York is looking for a cheap point guard who could help attract free agents next summer. Rubio fits that mold. I think that's what this latest trip to Spain is about, working something out with New York."

The Knicks have been in talks with multiple free agent point guards, most notably Ramon Sessions.

I think everybody on this forum wants Walsh to pull this off. I would rather have Double R than sessions.he's younger, cheaper and he has more upside. Not to mention he's more attractive to free agents next year. You just have to love how Donnie Walsh operates. I know I do!!!!

Any deal would probably have to include Hill, a future first, and cash, at a minimum; I Chandler isn't part of the deal, he's the kind of player that could thrive with a top PG feeding him.
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

Very speculative. So they assume that Kahn going back to Spain is to work something out with NY? Yeah, you can argue that if the Knicks got into serious discussions, they would have to be assured that Rubio would play for them right away, but that's a huge speculative jump when there have been no previous signs of action between the clubs.

We do know things look bleak for Minn with Rubio apparently not wanting to come to play for them and the buyout last I heard had increased. It would seem to make sense for both teams to start talking a deal, but unless this heats up, it looks like another "let's link Rubio with NY again because I'm really bored" rumor.

its a long shot and if the price is right I think its a good move but I think trading Hill or Chandler might be a bit much for this kid right now. If we re-sign Lee then maybe losing Hill isn't so bad, but isn't Hill more skilled than Lee?

I'd do this deal, you gotta gamble on (potential) greatness.

Chandler, N8, Mobley

for

Rubio, Blount

or

Chandler, N8, Mobley & Hill

for

Rubio, Blount & Brewer

After seeing Hill in the SL, I would trade him. No Problem.

Maybe this is why Donnie is being so cautious this summer?

agree it's a lot of speculation, but kahn might do this because he's stuck with a dead pick at 5 and it's worth his while to broker value back for the pick.

The asset is there and the meeting might include Rubio's agent.

You know what Marv? Call me an optimist or whatever you want, but I have very good faith in Walsh where if he makes a deal it's going to be a good deal for the Knicks.

Minny doesn't need any bigs. They need a SG. The only SG we can give them that has some value is Nate. They already have Brewer and Gomes so Wilson would be overkill.

i don't think they want to pair nate with flynn. that's hella midget backcourt.

chandler would be a major upgrade over brewer who till this point stinks... and he would be a player with more upside than gomes.....

Rubio, Brewer and Cardinal to the Knicks
Mobley, the 2012 pick, and the Mayor to the Grizz?

Nothing there that really stands out as a match unless the Grizz want to give a middle finger to their fans. Maybe a Nate S&T could be involved?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I would not give up Chandler for Rubio...I think they need to keep Chandler and Gallo...after that....Minny can ask away...

In reality, what is the trade value of Rubio?
