Anyway, I tend to believe this notion that Darko can blossom in D'antoni's system...I think Darko can have similiar impact to what Okur did when he got with Sloan and Utah. Sloan is a coach that plays to his players strengths while keeping with the common plan he's always had since Stockton and Malone. I think D'antoni does the same.
This league is all about opportunity a lot of times. When Darko was drafted they said that he was probably more skilled than even Lebron if he panned out. Well so far he hasn't....not without his flashes. Darko played very well in Orlando. I dunno how he ended up in Memphis.
Passing...Darko is a very skilled passer. You see it more during international play. He throws the lob and backdoor pass very well. He's very capable driving the ball. I think with his size he could be very dangerous in the high post.
He's also no pansy and their is tons of evidence to show. He will dunk it on you....he will defend the rim....he will get in the face of oppenents and come to the defense of others.
Go Darko Go!
Okur also is playing with Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer so I can't really see the comparison because it's easier to develop and blossom when your playing with very good players.
you make a lot of sense here, sessions would be a very good addition to his progress.
In order for any team to be good you need good players....thats a given.
A system can also be tailor made for a player to come out of their shell as well. D'antoni is the perfect coach for Darko because he has the skills D'antoni is looking for in a big man.
Right now with Duhon at the point guard spot, its just not the right mix. Knicks are a young up and coming team...these kids could step into training camp and just click, you never know...Just wish the Knicks had a better pg to put out there instead of Duhon
