http://www.nypost.com/seven/08152009/sports/knicks/walsh_high_on_darko_184669.htm

In this masterful article from the Post this guy outlines why Darko will be a sleeper hit and how the staff is really high on him.

Donnie goes as far as to compare him to Steve Nash and demonstrates a clear understanding of previous regimes' errors in handling of Darko.

So now we got him, we know what to do with him, and he gets a fresh start under MDA.

Look for an MIP award.

Anyway, I tend to believe this notion that Darko can blossom in D'antoni's system...I think Darko can have similiar impact to what Okur did when he got with Sloan and Utah. Sloan is a coach that plays to his players strengths while keeping with the common plan he's always had since Stockton and Malone. I think D'antoni does the same.

This league is all about opportunity a lot of times. When Darko was drafted they said that he was probably more skilled than even Lebron if he panned out. Well so far he hasn't....not without his flashes. Darko played very well in Orlando. I dunno how he ended up in Memphis.

Passing...Darko is a very skilled passer. You see it more during international play. He throws the lob and backdoor pass very well. He's very capable driving the ball. I think with his size he could be very dangerous in the high post.

He's also no pansy and their is tons of evidence to show. He will dunk it on you....he will defend the rim....he will get in the face of oppenents and come to the defense of others.

Go Darko Go!

Well, if we get Bron in 2010, and Melo in 2011, we'll have the 2003 Trifeca!

Okur also is playing with Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer so I can't really see the comparison because it's easier to develop and blossom when your playing with very good players.

It would be could for a TV announcer to say "From Lottery bust to NBA champion" while he is in a Knick uniform. That would be sweet.

you make a lot of sense here, sessions would be a very good addition to his progress.

Ya'll setting yourselves up to get your feelings hurt. Darko averages 11/9 or better, I'll shyt.

Duke has no heart and average talent...that's why he is in this position...Donnie just hopin against hope with him.

i think 11 / 8 / 2 type numbers are within his reach depending on the minutes he gets... if Curry comes back & shows he can play again, then Darko's production will take a big hit.

In order for any team to be good you need good players....thats a given.

A system can also be tailor made for a player to come out of their shell as well. D'antoni is the perfect coach for Darko because he has the skills D'antoni is looking for in a big man.

Right now with Duhon at the point guard spot, its just not the right mix. Knicks are a young up and coming team...these kids could step into training camp and just click, you never know...Just wish the Knicks had a better pg to put out there instead of Duhon

I'm not sure how Darko will do. He has potential to do well, but a lot of guys have potential to do well. Change of scenery does not always serve them. But I will say that if he can't excel here that might be it for him.

What I will say is that there are a few that criticize Walsh for not taking a chance on a guy like Gerald Green. Isn't Darko kind of like Gerald Green?

Gerald Green has low iq and can't play defense. Darko have team mentality and hold his own on defense. No comparison. Also Darko seems to be given minutes to play wherever he went. Green is an enigma now.

Not in terms of play, in terms of Walsh going after a player that has high potential that hasn't achieved it yet. It's been one of the criticisms against Walsh(not going after guys like Green) when in actuality Darko is one of these guys.

That's all I'm saying

Yep, a low risk, high reward kind of player.

But yeah, Darko seems to have a better chance at improving than Green.

There are 30 teams in the NBA right? the whole league is repressing Gerald Green. I think the league is afraid Gerald could emerge as a force in the league and don't want him to be in the limelight. He's not a bum like other guys in the past. Oh well we'll never know.

Hmm...whenever I have seen Green play, his talent jumps off the screen. Dont understand why he isnt getting run either. Gettin' your Playa on, Eny...I approve. Keep questioning.

This used to happen to me when I was coaching. Dude would have incredible ability, dunk on people, make spectacular plays, fans never noticed that the rest of the time he was killing us!!

I'm suspecting that this is Green's issue
