It falls under the table... Walsh and David's agent are looking for it.

Well, since nobody cares to post it...

Orlando Interested in Adding Duhon? By Tommy Dee - Aug 7, 2009 5:42 pm First off to summarize on David Lee, hoopsworld.com publisher Steve Kyler says that the Knicks have a 4-year- $38 million dollar deal to Lee on the table and a one- year deal for 7-million, which Lee’s camp is balking at. Kyler also notes that Chris Duhon is a trade piece, maybe to Orlando who just traded Rafer Alston and could be looking for a backup point guard. According to Kyler,  the Magic could offer their trade exception, which they received in the Hedu Turkoglu deal. Remember, Kyler covered the Magic and for Basketball News Services. I haven’t heard the Knicks offer to Lee, but if his camp is looking for 10 or 11 per, I wonder if $38 million over 4 years, to Walsh, is the “right number.” Click on the right and listen to my interview and to listen to my last interview with Steve, click here.

So a 4 year, 34 mill offer and they are balking? I'm really becoming a fan of trading him or letting him go.

So, is Walsh giving up on 2010 with this? Is he confident he will trade both Jeffries and Curry? Or maybe Lee at the deadline, but that contract would make him less desirable to other teams.

I saw this but is lee and his dumbass agent gonna take it?? If they dont I tell lee play this yr ,become unrestricted and take your chances next yr.No one is rushing to take lee at 11-12 mil so if im Walsh I make it clear this is a take it or leave it offer. Then I go look for a team so that I trade lee to some Godforsaken team like golden state etc... His agent is killing him and we have talked about this before.

4 yrs 38 mil....

2009: 8mil
2010: 9mil
2011: 10mil
2012: 11mil

IF (big if) this is indeed an offer on the table for David, i'd say Walsh is being very fair. 9.5 per season.

I don't really believe it though. He would be basically 20% of our cap in the summer of 2Max FAs.

20% + 30% + 30% = 80%.

The rest of the team would have to be rookies and minimum vets.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

If this is true - Lee will sign to it...
If he will not - he is defenetally delusional.

Probably won't. His agent is.

I highly doubt this is true--consider the source.

David Lee's direct market is set---4 years 32mm or less. I have to think that Portland's offer to Millsap is what David should get or perhaps close to it i.e 30mm for 4 etc...

I really dont think it will be with the Knicks--I dont see the Knicks throwing out that contract.

Were probably going to lose Lee because we didnt execute that trade with Nate and Jefferies.

Lee needs to be careful for if he doesn't take the 4 year deal and goes with a 1 his time won't be "guaranteed". On a long deal he is part of the future of will at least be showcased to trade. But on a 1 year deal his rights would almost have to be renounced at the end of the year because of the cap hold. So, from our point of view he is going to be competing with others for minutes (on a 1 year deal).

As others have said, the Milsap deal set his value. Further, this system hides his deficiencies some. If he goes somewhere else he is probably not as valuable UNLESS he is the only rebounder on the team, which is doubtful.

I'm starting to not like Lee's whole side of things...

At the time, I didn't think the Nate & Jefferies for ending garbage made sense.

However, if Nate isn't part of the future here- and that's clear from the lack of offers from Walsh to him- why the F didn't we do that trade?

Did something happen between the deadline and the end of the season that changed Walsh's mind about Nate?

Unless there is something about the proposed Sac trade we don't know about, I think its pretty hard to defend Walsh for not pulling the trigger.

Walsh and DLee are playing this right. Why jump on a contract now if you don't have to? The Godfather is playing this out to perfection. DLee is just trying to get as much for himself. You can't fault him for that.

4 years at $38 mill is about right for Lee. The one year at $7 mill is about a million too low. I would offer one year at $8 mill. Otherwise, these are pretty fair deals that Lee has little chance of beating. He should take the money.

I don't believe for a second that Donnie has offered 4yrs for $38 mil. Way too high. As stated above, 4 yrs at $8 mil is the going max rate for Lee. I think Lee would grab the 4yr $38 mil right no; and be very happy.
