Source: Stackhouse To Meet With Knicks

Aug 05, 2009 3:08 PM EST

Jerry Stackhouse is scheduled to meet with the Knicks on Thursday.

Stackhouse will work out at the team's practice facility, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

The Knicks are looking for veteran additions, and have already auditioned point guards Jason Williams and Jamaal Tinsley.

New York is also courting Bucks restricted free agent Ramon Sessions.

according to my sources:

- knicks will plan to meet stackhouse on thursday.

- which will be pushed back to friday.

- after they meet friday, they will schedule a workout for next tuesday.

- that workout will be pushed to next thursday as they will bring back jason williams to workout that wednesday.

- after stackhouse's workout on thursday, knicks management will deliberate on whether to make an offer to sessions or not.

- on september 12th, they will bring stackhouse in for another workout after they have lunch with nate robinson's agent.

- somewhere on or around december 27th, the knicks may offer sessions a contract.

Nothing wrong with the Knicks approach. Rushing to offer Sessions a contract doesn't make much sense when we are really the only serious suitor.

As for Stackhouse, I don't really care about him but we are doing our due dilligence so that's a good thing.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I don't understand what's so funny. Yes, rushing. Has anyone else even remotely expressed interest at his asking price? Same goes for Nate and Lee. I'm not understanding the Isiah Thomas way of thinking people are still on. I don't see any legit reason to make an offer to someone who has no offers and is making demands as if he does. We are bidding against ourselves in all the cases.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

come on man...lighten up...y'all are way too serious...

it's ok to make fun of walsh's age and stuff like that. posting pics of him as an old senile man is pure jokes.

but walsh is doing anything but rushing. the only 2 moves he rushed on were trading zach and crawford and he may have waited too long on zach b/c of the rumored cap space/2nd round pick they offered first.

everything else he's done has been very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very deliberate...

and i know you know that's a good thing. you can do more damage with the wrong move here than you can do good with the right one. that's just by virtue of the moves that we can make. if this was chess, the knicks would be a sorry ass pawn that can't do nothing but move forward and diagonally (on occassion). next year, we'll be all over the board.

If Stack has anything left he can get to the line, which none of our other guards do.

Odds of him having anything left are not good though.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

it really depends. if the guy is a smart gm, then making a quick move doesn't mean it's a bad move. everyone is scared of isiah part 2 but dumars and colangelo proved making a risky move can work out. and more recently, presti made some high risk moves that worked out as well. isiah's plan was not a flawed one but the guy making the decisions was a nutjob. the single one advantage the knicks have is money and they are not using it. but walsh made his choice so it's lebron/wade or bust. i really don't buy into the flexibility stuff when all the other free agents at that time could be found via trades (comparable players).
