just don't let Lee & Nate walk for nothing
i knew you'd come in on this . . . . .

you can't conceive of ANY scenario where it ends up better for us to do that?
nope... i can't bro... u let them walk for nothing & ur basically throwing away the 2 biggest assets we had at our disposal to make deals with... even if u have to sign them to a longterm deal, u still have the option to trade them later, just gotta make sure that contract is not absurdly overpriced over the market like D Lee's agent was asking for... if u sign them to QO deals & they veto any trades & end up walking next year, you're basically just throwing them away for nothing... Donnie absolutely must somehow get them to sign a shortterm or below market contract & then explore trade options, or just explore sign & trade options outright.
all right. it's all hypothetical. but i can conceive of a scenario where not signing them gives us the room to absorb eddy's contract and still sign 2 guys of our choice who MORE than offset anything nate and lee would have given us on the court. better outcome in the end than having signed them in this case.
What team has ever built a championship team building around a free agent?
Barkley went to the Suns in a trade.
Kidd to NJ was a trade.
Chauncey Billups? Is that the answer?
I'm not sold on the 2010 plan especially with Walsh's punt at the 2009 trade deadline.
Alan Hahn:
Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
