A meeting between the Miami Heat and free-agent point guard Jamaal Tinsley is off.

Tinsley, who negotiated a buyout last week from the Indiana Pacers after being held out all of last season, was scheduled to meet with Miami Heat President Pat Riley this weekend.

Tinsley's hometown New York Knicks are considered a favorite for the veteran playmaker, and the Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers are also said to be interested.

You know, now that I've researched it, this is going to be the best signing of the off-season for the Knicks.

Tinsley REBIRTH, KIDS. Guy is coming off a career-high 8.4 assist season. He will run us into the semi-finals, dudes.

I'm just excited about the Knicks getting a real point guard...Tinsley is a injury prone dude that hasn't played a nba game in a year...J-Will actually retired due to injury...both guys are still better than Duhon...

LOL. Yea that's pretty rough on Duhon, but it's true that Tinz is a real point guard. He's the best the Knicks have had in a decade+

The knicks are fooling around with two pointless ideas, those being Williams and Tinsley. You only consider the latter if you end up trading Duhon for Sessions and want depth after Douglas. But Sessions has to be priority one and if they don't deliver it will really be a bad blow. JWill? Really? Come on!

I don't think Walsh wants to make a financial commitment to Sessions. I think D'Antoni really wants him and there is a struggle between sticking with the plan or winning more games now. Of course a coach wants to win now. Walsh needs to keep to his plan. My guess is that he is exploring ways to dump a contract before he commits to salary past 2010.

Williams is but Tinsley is not a hopeless idea. Tinsley will be the real deal, and yes, Crush, I don't think Don Walsh wants to commit to Sessions long term-- which is something Sessions is looking for.
