haha. well, whatever the case the Blazers wont have to worry about what if, now will they?
Nah, they won't.
But seriously, why do people muse that if you add let's just say a 20/10 player to a team that they will automatically average 20pts and 10rebs more per game?
Why do some people refuse to understand that that is not a logical point of view?
You add a big time scorer to a team that was led by a big time scorer and people seem to want to assume that team will suddenly shatter NBA records and nobody can stop them. They never take into account the fact that one of those two big time scorers will stop being a big time scorer - where one freezes the other out entirely - and that if you're lucky, they'll split the scoring duties - which has both dropping from big time scorers to average scorers making a nice big time scoring duo. That is so rare players are able to do that.
Yet, I guess we live in the video game age. If the Knicks signed LeBron and his 28ppg without giving anyone up the Knicks would go from 105ppg to 133ppg!
Yep, nobody on the Knicks would see their scoring tank. LeBron wouldn't be giving up any PPG either. We'd just be setting scoring records never seen before!
...........why people think this way I never know.
So, yes, given this little example, adding a Hedo or Durant to the Blazers doesn't ensure them of rising to elite status. You don't mash two big time scorers together without having a problem.
Sorry...try again.
