The Portland Trail Blazers have offered point guard Andre Miller a three-year contract with a team option for a third year, a source close to the process said Friday.

What I take away:

- Even less money for DLee

- Sessions last decent PG left on the market outside the Tinsely/Starbury/Jason Williams poo poo platter

Miller

The contract would be worth $21 million, with $14 million guaranteed and
$7 million included as a team option, the source said.

Miller, an unrestricted free agent, had been balking at signing the 76ers' one-year offer, and the Blazers were one of only two teams with the money to give him more than the mid-level exception.

The Blazers have been looking for a veteran point guard for the past couple of seasons and have flirted with everyone from Jason Kidd to Kirk Hinrich.

With Miller the Blazers would get a savvy veteran who excels as a physical, post-up guard.

If David hasn't fired his moronic agent yet, I don't know why. Walsh looks better by the day for waiting out the market. Now DLee has only one team left who can straight up sign him: NYK. Hopefully, he will take the one year $6mil that's sort of on the table. Or maybe the Chi/Prtlnd/NY S&T is still in the works.

As for us, time to send the four year deal across Sessions' desk. Nobody else left to sign at the one (other than maybe Tinsley for a year... blech).

Dominoes have to fall before our guys get consideration.... and Andre Miller is one of those.

The more, the better, and the Knicks will eventually reach the stage where they can get to their offseason business.

bad fit but this is the last time they'll have cap space so they had to spend it.

at least the contract is not tradeable.

doesn't improve the blazers that much and will definitely hurt the sixers.

It would have brought the Raptors the title though, right?

Much like 24 NBA teams each and every year.

Stern's CBA really did a number on things didn't it.

Somebody does, just not at 10M+. However, again, Miller is one more FA domino that has fallen. We still have a number to go before anyone cares about dealing with the Knicks though. Odom, Iverson, Boozer trade potential, etc. Until these guys are gone why would anyone want to talk to the Knicks!?

I wouldn't.

I agree. I think Lee is wanted. I think a lot of teams like him, he's a good player. But it's clear that teams don't seem him as a top 2 or 3 player on there team(which is what a 10 million + salary says that you probably are). I found it interesting that Lee thought he would be signed "because all that he did for our organization". Did he not look at the record during his tenure. He's a good player and I would like him on our team, but he hasn't done anythign for us yet. Until you effect winning you can't talk about what you gave to an organization.

My advice to David:
1.) Accept an offer for 7-8 mill and be happy
2.) Sign the qualifying offer, work your asse off, learn ot play defense to increase your value.

You're joking right?

Why would anybody not want to deal with the organization? Isn't Walsh a respected guy? Isn't D'antoni?

Isn't Lee, flawed and all, worth some annual ticket between $6-8mm?

Odom will be a Laker. Boozer is an expiring & certain to be traded. And Iverson is has been, with nothing but his ego & innefficient game left.

What's the downside to dealing with the Knicks?

Honestly, I would rather have Bayless than Sessions.

I still would be pushing for a Lee for Bayless and Ty Thomas 3 way with Chicago and Portland.

Probably, yes. But he isn't looking for that, hence the fact he's not re-signed already.
