Nate Robinson has yet to receive an offer sheet as a restricted free agent.

The New York Daily News reports that there is an increasing chance that the guard will accept the Knicks' one-year, $2.9 million qualifying offer.

Forgive me because I know this has been covered on here before, but if he accepts how does that affect our ability to trade him?

if he accepts qualifying offer, Nate can block a trade. If he is traded, he would lose his Bird rights.

I hate RealGM part 2: Notice how the title of the article almost contradicts the article itself.

Just as a good practice, we should try to link the original source articles when possible. I know Realgm is a great aggregator and gets a lot of breaking stories, but usually they just excerpt the full article and can sometimes take things out of context. Isola just says there's a chance that it could happen while the excerpt makes it sound like its imminent.

RealGm is awful with the Knicks because they often link to Berman and Isola stories that are pure speculation. I started going to a site, hoopsworld.com, that I think is better.

I checked out hoopsworld and seems to be a pretty good site. Thanks for the tip.

I hear that site is shaky.

Personally, I don't go to any of them for information. When something happends, it will be heard.

let's get this straight, if he accepts a QO & Donnie tries to trade him at the deadline this year, he can block the trade because he would then lose his Bird Rights if the Knicks traded him?

realgm is basically an internet buzz generating secondary source.

i always wonder why some bother postsing links/snippets from realGM about knicks news when all you usually have to do is check the uk homepage or scan the nyc papers daily articles online where they almost always get their info from.

like the article about gallo's back being close to healthy (and expects to be pain free soon, which the snippet failed to detail) that someone posted from realGM that was in yesterday's ny times. it wasn't exactly hard to find the original article.

just as a basic research standard, it's always better to cite the primary or as close to the original source as possible, rather than through secondary outlets.

What's part 1? The selective modding that silences those who disagree with said mods, which also leads to those who agree with said mods being allowed to poison said forum with trash endlessly?

As to their "wiretap" I look at it as a tabloid. They get you to click and in the end you feel dirty.

2 separate statements.

1) A player on a QO can block trades.
2) A player who is on a QO who does accepts a trade loses their Bird Rights.

what i'm asking is that if Nate accepts a QO, he will gain the ability to block a trade and protect his Bird Rights at the deadline this year should Donnie decide he wants to try & trade him?

I am surprised that one of these teams like CAVS who have the MLE and desperately need players who can create their own offense haven't put in an offer to Nate. Are they thinking we'd match?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Would this make Nate a BYC player?

They may not want to commit 5 yrs 32 mil, and if it's a shorter contract like 3 yrs 18 mil, we probably would match.

There is no way the knicks match $6M+ per year for Robinson.

Is it possible that Knicks fans are overvaluing Lee and Robinson, I mean, neither has received an offer other than the QO. So far, we are negotiating against ourselves.
You know I gonna spin wit it

I wonder if Walsh has offered Nate anything besides the QO- like 3 years, $12MM.

Honestly, the lack of anything but the QO speaks volume about what the Knicks think about Nate.
