Utah gets significant cap space to resign Millsap
Oklahoma gets 2 2's for facilitating the deal
NY gets Boozer and Koufus for relieving 18mm in cap for the Jazz

Actually if we throw a couple more non guaranteed contracts to Oklahoma we could have Earl Watson instead of Atkins

I'm pretty sure this is Briggs' trade idea. Utah demanded Ty Thomas from Chicago. So I don't see why they'd do a deal with us without getting anything beyond cash savings. We've been telling Briggs this for a while.

Never...it's always an idea if you have to question it. With BRIGGS you ought to already know he's just voicing an idea.

TO his idea I have to say that Utah can get a LOT more for Boozer...either from another team, a 2010 S&T, or a 2010 - let him walk and sign a different big name FA with his cap space.

They're not dealing with us. They're just waiting for us to post our customary 35 wins or less and give them the 8th pick in 2010 which will probably be another Sweetney or Frye.

It is what it is with Utah.

Boozer isn't a chump and they can easily trade him for assets at any time from now through Feb 20-something 2010 --- or --- as said do an S&T or use his cap space to sign another FA in July 2010.

They have no reason to deal with us at all.

Unless it is a confirmed trade it does not deserve a thread title.

Uh, I see no harm in a fellow Knick Fan, UK Member, voicing his trade proposals. We all have our idiosyncrasies and ways of posting. To not have picked up on BRIGGS methods yet is a failure unto yourself.

The Answer Man should already know the ways of BRIGGS postings to tell the difference between an idea being posted or a legit rumor (also known as a journalism's idea being passed off as a legit rumor).

While I could see a temporary misconception....I don't see a "KNICKS TRADED...._____...for _____" there. TO me I already knew it was just an idea of BRIGGS.

Regardless, what's the big deal? You open the thread, and in less than a second realize it's simply an idea posted by BRIGGS.

While I know YOU aren't making a big stink out of it...All the same I just don't see the problem here. BRIGGS always proposes trade ideas and never headlines his thread titles with "TRADE IDEA: UTAH-KNICKS-OKC TRADE."

Would the world run smoother if guys like BRIGGS disclaimered his ideas? I guess. But then I guess we need to ALL disclaimer our posts before hand.

briggs - This is a little much from someone calling themselves the answer man.

AM - Perhaps you have a valid point, but briggs you of all people should KNOW that your trade "proposals" should be labeled as what they are, your proposals, so they are not mistaken for the real thing. There is enough anxiety already.

Proposals or not. If there is anyway we can get into this deal within reason I would do it. You don't want top play with a weak hand but by golly I know that Utah is also holding 8/3 right about now. If there is a money issue--it seems like we can be natural partners to a deal.
I think a key to 2010 is not scking he place out in 2009. A guy like Boozer in the Eastern conference can be a horse that few teams can handle and would set up our 3 point shooters. Forget everything else--can they get me Boozer alone--no other assets --a cash deal and if need be a couple of second rounders. Winning is VERY important--I know what Boozer can and cannot do. What he CAN do is create space for others by drawing double teams--he is a willing passer--hes a top 5 rebounder and a strong physical presence. Does he solve defensive problems--hes better than Lee and hopefully Hill Darko and Douglas can help our D. But we need a hoss in the middle.
We need to win. Can Donnie Walsh get Boozer here--I think it can be done and I think it could be a coup. Right now I dont care about who is what in 2010---get me Boozer and lets go 2009 and let it sort out later.
