Dude is still a FA, we can get Chandler to stay at his more natural 3 position. He does everything that we really need from the 2 spot, imo.

But what about Morris Almond? It is either him or the other.

Almond is nice but unproven. At least Wafer showed he could play in the L. Wafer was a starting 2 at times last year.

Ok but Wafer is shorter than Almond. Besides isn't Nate a more superior player than Wafer?

Wafer is an inch or 2 shorter, but is more proven and may be more skilled. Unless Nate hits puberty and can spurt up to about 6-3, he isn't a starting 2, imo.

I like wafer and if we trade nate he could fill in nicely for him. I really see him as a JR Smith kind of guy. Once (or if) he matures he has the potential to turn into one of the best 6th men in the league.

(was going to post this in the other thread but saw Joe created a new one based on the convo there)

Wafer was on our SL team last year, right? And we missed out and signed Robersuck. Well, it happens.

This year we have Morris Almond. Can HE become the "next von wafer"? Is it something we might rather look into?

Wafer...is peaked. He did nice on a really good Rockets squad I give him that. Again, the key phrase being "really nice squad". We're still rebuilding. What would Wafer do here? Would he stink without the support of really good players? Or would he excel in the proverbial "Well, that team stinks, SOMEONE has to score there!"

..?

I like what he did for the Rockets. I think he felt disrespected that they just let him go. Could there be a reason for it? Such as he's not really THAT good?

I think I'd like to see what Almond has to offer first - before we go after a guy like Wafer.

Nate is sicko athletic freak, never mind he not 6'0. Von Wafer can't hold Nate's little jockstrap. I want to see Almond wow at SL before we they consider some Von Waffles.

It isn't like it is a major move and we don't have a single true SG(unless you count Hughes-which I don't) so why not sign both? Almond can be here for the minimum while the LLE for a semi-proven NBA player is not bad.

Hill
Lee/Chandler
Chandler/Gallo
Wafer

Thats a good point. Most of our roster is so forgettable at the moment it is hard to remember who is here and for how long. I still think Hughes has something to offer even if it's not his contract year. He would be starting at the 2 unless we move chandler there to accomodate galinari. But if we are going to lose Nate then I don't see why he can't fill that role of instant offense off the bench.

Von Wafer is a waste of time- the point is you can find Von Wafers in the summer league ever year. Knicks had him under there nose and whiffed on him, instead picking up Robersuck. They better not make that mistake again.

I know, but why take another gamble on someone like robersuck when you can pick up a proven contributor for not much more money.
