Because you know layden is going to do it sooner or later...

Who do we deal him for?

I've always liked Erick Dampier (don't laugh - Damp is a legit center that ANY Squad would love to have - i'm sure cuban wishes he had dampier instead of Jamison - don't laugh again).

I know the Frank Williams and Dampier salaries don't match up but we could do:

Weatherspoon and Frank Willams for Dampier...

Who'd make that trade? (i know definitely not the Warriors!)

Considering the other two PGs, nah I wanna keep FWill. Trade Ward or Eisley. Hopefully Eisley- it would be nice to ditch that contract.

If LayDown wants to trade Williams, hopefully he'll get chopped before that happens.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

You guys know Layden is trying to trade Kurt Thomas and Williams for Bobby Sura and Elden Campbell, or Shawn Bradley and change...

Post the source, Case. I wanna read that. That trade sounds too ass-backward (even for LayDown's dyslexic thinking) for me to believe it otherwise...

Of course Laydone will trade Frank. He will trade any player that shows the slightest hint of promise or creativity.

That was my point exactly....

// also there is no source. I'm just saying that Layden is going to try and pull off some dumb deal for the knicks, which won't be any good to us.

The retarded thing is that Frank is on the floor playing SG. they need to play him at PG.

they should run a lineup of:

FWill / Ward
Houston / Eisley
Anderson / Van Horn off the bench
KT / Dyess
Mutumbo / Doleac

That's the kind of rotation that bumbaclod Chaney needs to implement (especially playing KVH off the bench!). Instead I see cats like Spoon rolling around the court.

I know we need to make a move, and I actually hope beyond my better sense that LayDown does not blow it this time.

1 OT lost against piston and the doubter stick their heads out the sand.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Do you think Spoon rates up there with some of the worst Knicks ever?

no... he's just a bad fit for our team right now... because the league has passed him by. it's changed so much since he entered the league. just think about it. barkley, slightly past his prime (not how he is now), would not get off the bench for the knicks. this league has become all about height and athleticism, which spoon has neither. Back in the day, 6'7" was decent for the position spoon played - SMALL FORWARD. Guys built like him just don't exist any more in the NBA. All those guys have been shifted over to the PF spot, but are undersized, and therefore, extinct. Remember Mason played SF on the knicks? LJ was a small forward too... yeah, those guys had skills, but Weatherspoon used to be compared to a young Charles Barkley... the game has just passed him by.

Yea but some of the games on our winning streak when houston and KVH was out of the lineup he played decent ball, mainly because he was a part of the liberal passing the knicks displayed even though he didn't start. He was a monster on the boards!

Are you kidding? Spoon sucks. The only way he'll get the rebound is if the ball lands in his arms (but thats not too hard considering he's a fat ass who's wider than he is tall). He can't score and he can't board. There's no point to having him on the team. Harrington is a 10x better player.

However, i agree that KVH is horribly inconsistent. The only way he can score is if he's wide open. About the same rebounding potential as Spoon, maybe a tad better.

Dampier owns. 10pts 15 boards a game is complete dominance. However, Knicks dont need size anymore. They need leadership in the form of a PG.. And this needs to be a quality PG, not some NVE.

Sorry - Did I misunderstand - Barkley slightly passed his prime wouldn't get off the bench for the Knicks?? Karl Malone is well passed his prime and is still one of the best forwards in the league. Barkley slightly passed his prime was better then Malone is now. Spoon - never was close to the athlete Barkley was. The game hasn't changed that much!

Barkley averaged over 15 pts and 11.5 rebounds in 97-98 (well past his prime) even in his injury plagued last season 99-00 he averaged 14.5 pts and 10.5 rebounds. He was playing against a lot of the same guys that are the top notch forwards today:

Garnett
Duncan
Webber
Malone

Plus a lot of other guys that are still contributing:

abdur-rahim
Pj Brown
Juwan Howard
etc...

If all these guys can still compete against todays players and Barkley past his prime could compete against them - how do you figure he couldn't play for the knicks?

yeah, i agree that barkley was an exception. the difference is only athleticism. i lived around philly and watched barkley for years. he was as athletic as anybody. past his prime he did lose his hops but he was so knowledgeable about the game. he would get into other players heads, draw the foul or talk to the refs constantly. he was a court manipulator who used every advantage possible to get the edge. he did that until he was so fat that he can not play anymore. he knew he had to leave. look at brand. he is 6-7 or 6-8 and he still thrives. he just used everything to his advantage even though he is athletic. spoon is a dummy. just run around the court like the town drunk. he was athletic earlier in his career when he was the ONLY otion in philly but later teams realized he sucked offensively especially when philly reveived stackhouse. now the only thing reminiscent of his philly days are the countless cheesesteaks he eats on the back of the knicks charter plane before the game.

Spoon is getting paid to throw that game years ago against miami, and we won.

Y'all are real silly sometimes......trading Fwill?

Leave layden alone, he does not need any help looking bad, he did well enough on his own without having to fabricate junk.
