I was thinking that maybe we've been a little to harsh on CD. He was one of the top assits guys in the NBA, and had the most assits (22) in knick history. Considered a back up coming in, I think he did more then an adequate job considering the circumstances. My 3 question.

1- Will he improve after one year in the system.

2-Did he make anyone better this past season.

3- Does he have the potential to be a leader.

He's an average player --- thats just what he has been throughout his career. He played out of his mind the first half of the season, under D'antoni, but he came back down to earth. He's not really a leader, because he has a poor work ethic and would rather party with average looking white women and drink low grade Vodka than work on his game. Backup talent.

I also think teams started to figure him & our offense out, and made adjustments.

Really good players don't let adjustments stop them.

Duhon should be trade bait. I like him as a backup. But a 6mil ending contract for a good PG has to be worth something to someone. (Contenders who lose a PG to injury etc.)
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

ummmmm . . . calling a mister spree to the thread? is there a mister eny spree in the house?

Aren't there any other basketball purist on call today???

I can't ever say Duhon is a bum enough in my lifetime to ever give this guy the flaming he deserves....

To say Duhon is even a pg is an act against God....

First off you are not talking ab out Eny Spree (name given to me by Jesus step brother, Larry Christ) running the point...I am an out of shape, cake and beer loving hippy with ****ed knees. If I break down after 1/3rd of a season you can give send me a fruit basket.

Players have sat and rotted on the bench all season and jumped at the drop of a dime and played huge minutes. You have to be ready to play. If you are hurt, sit out. Kobe was tired in the Finals. Lebron almost passed out in the playoffs....Duhon needs a nap after 2 months worth of games??? Fuck you Duhon!!!!

Pick and roll...are we that excited about a simple pass to the open man? ANYBODY CAN RUN THE PICK AND ROLL!!!! The finisher is the most important person and Hill, Curry, Darko, Marion, Kenyon Martin, KVH, anyone with decent finishing ability can complete it.....besides the only pass Duhon can make is a bounce pass.

Now as far as defenses figuring him out??? Gtfoh!!!! Have they figured Andre Miller out??? Any other starting point??? Stop the madness!!!

We are nyc'ers!!! The home of the point guard!!! Are you kidding me??? Kenny Anderson, rod strickland, mark jackson, kenny smith, skip, shamgod, booger, Future....even erick barkley, omar cook, Andre barrett...are guys kidding me???

Man Fuck Duhon!!!

So the fact that he avg 8ast doesn't matter. I'm not big on him at all, but I don't see to many players avg that in this league. He was a starter with no back up for 2 months, was leading the league in minutes played during the same stretch. Again I'm not saying he's the answer, but not many if any pg's had to endure a stretch like that.playing 40 plus minutes a night as a pg is fkng crazy.

"Crack head pg"??? Genius!!!

Btw, I've seen crack head point guards....actually Kam77 almost came to blows with one at the last UK basketball get together...a lot of guys can testify to this...Crack heads can play ball and that Crack head we met that day was better than Chris Duhon.

I think we should just be honest with ourselves. The Knicks need a point guard, and there's an experienced vet avaiable. He's only 32 years old. Yes, I'm talking about Stephon Marbury. He's better than Duhon, and this time, I'm sure, this time - things will be different.

Bring back Marbury.

1 - Marginally.
2 - Yes, but only when he was healthy which was what 2 months?
3 - Team leader? No. A decent teammate who can help guide players on the court and boost confidence a little? Yeah.

Meanwhile, again, he was a two year trial, has proven he just cannot handle the load, and will be replaced by the end of this upcoming season. He won't be retained for he will make enough money to not warrant being a backup PG and I can't ever see us extending him or him taking less than we paid him.

He tried, I can't fault him for that, but I'm a basketball fan and the final synopsis on his overall season lack of health included? He's a hack.

Oh I will add however, if we did land say Bosh and LeBron? Then keeping Duhon as a starting PG is just fine. That's two big if's however - Duhon cannot carry a team but he can be a good role player on a stacked team.
