As Portland pursues Hedo Turkoglu, they have angered Rudy Fernandez in the process, according to sources.

Fernandez would prefer to play in Greece, Russia or even Spain again.

A league source told ESPN.com that Fernandez has already been courted informally by European powerhouses Olympiacos, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and CSKA Moscow.

Fernandez, who paid more than $500,000 of his own money to buy his way out of his contract with DKV Joventut, believes he can earn 5 million euros per season if he signs a three-year contract in Europe. He is due to make $1.1 million from the Blazers next season.

The problem for Fernandez from a leverage standpoint is that he is entering the second year of his NBA rookie contract, and the Blazers have the option to re-sign him for a third and/or fourth season. Fernandez would have to be released from his NBA contract in order to receive a letter of clearance from FIBA.

The Blazers have been made aware of Fernandez's feelings, the source said.

What does that solve. He will still be on the same rookie salary. These Euro guys just don't really get it. Stern his crew of owners fought too hard to get this rookie scale and they ain't changing it for no one.

I think for the $ there's nothing wrong with Rudy Fernandez

He seems relatively athletic. Shot .399 from 3 last season.

It seems like Portland just couldn't find the minutes for him. Whether that speaks positively about Portland's depth with Outlaw and Batum or means he just couldn't earn the minutes in McMillan's eyes how can we know?

dj...why is he so overrated?

I don't see much downside in aquiring him. I just have no idea how the $ would match.

Nate = X$M

Rudy = $1M +

Pryzbilla? The fans love him and he is great Oden insurance.
Blake? Why give up a solid backup unless you really like Nate that much?

Didn't Lee want to play in Portland? Once they sign Hedo they won't have enough under the cap, so let's negotiate the contract for Portland and then send him to there for Rudy and some cap fodder and maybe a pick.

Walsh needs to be save face for Kahn. That means he will need to be creative to get Rubio here. That is not a bad idea, but I think Chandler would be too much....

Insert Nate instead and throw Minnesota, Mobley for Cardinal...

So, NY trades Mobley to Minnesota for Cardinal and Rubio
Robinson to Portland for Rudy, who goes to minnesota

Kidd : Kidd 2 gears slower
Rudy : Kittles Isn't half the defender Kerry was and nowhere near as efficient shooting
Chander: Jefferson Lacks RJ's aggressiveness and hunger
Hill : Kenyon KMart could guard 3 positions. we're not even sure Hil can guard 1
