The 2009 Knicks summer league roster features four former lottery picks.

Nikoloz Tskitishvili, Yaroslav Korolev and Mouhamed Sene will join Jordan Hill on the team.

Also on the team are Patrick Ewing, Jr. and Utah's 2007 first round pick, Morris Almond.

Via RealGM Staff Report

I really hope Morris Almond can stick, I think he may still have a career in the NBA.

Wow, Morris Almond is on the team! That is some good news. I know many of us here wanted to see how he would do in this system. I hope somebody can record the games and upload them for us... Cosmic, oh Cosmic, is that possible?

Wow Morris Almond! I really think that's going to end up being a great move, bringing him onto this team, he should have no problem making our real roster with his jumpshot.

Korolev was a high pick by the Clippers, only a few drafts ago, he must have some sort of talent, it'll be interesting to see him.

This summer league should be interesting because we have between 2 and 5 open roster spots depending on what we do with Lee, Robinson, Wilcox and Mobley.

Duhon/Douglas
Hughes/Chandler
Harrington/Gallo
Hill/Jeffries
Curry/Darko

Mobley.

This is all we have under contract.

BTW, Douglas might be worth stashing in D-League to learn the PG postion, so a guy like Blake Ahearn looks that much better to run the backup. (of course, until we come to terms with Minnie to get Ricky )
You know I gonna spin wit it

Now there is some logic to putting 4 lottery picks on your SL team. Sometimes guys are too young coming into the league--sometimes they play for the wrong system--the wrong coach but some where along the way someone thought they had a lot of talent. This is a proactive move to hopefully increase the quality and depth of our roster on the cheap.

Wow that's awesome. Lottery busts all over the place. I wanted to give Korolev a try for the longest time though. Donnie on his A game.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

These guys went in the top 10 picks for a reason. They have talent. Sometimes they need the right situation. Mike D seems to give many players the best opportunity to succeed.

Skita sucks. He's just filler. The important players to look at are Almond, our draft picks and whatever big man might be on the roster. I'm sure they are looking at PEJ good and hard too. I wonder how hard he worked on that jumpshot of his. If he did, I say he makes the roster along with Almond, if we have the space.

This is the best move Donnie's made since signing Mike D.

Who know's what these guys are capable of in a wide open system.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The whole summer league roster is impressive....I'd like to sign at least 4 of them right off the bat.

LOL, Tskitishvili makes the most sense. I said last year how can you not have the guy that both the coach and GM said has more upside than Pau Gasol on your summer league roster. That just looks bad. Finally, skita will get his shot to prove it to the world. The circle is now complete.

great job... I mentioned Lampe several times. Same kind of scenario (although Lampe is a top rated bigman in Europe these days and getting big money).

I know people wanted Donnie to snatch up some of the undrafted rookies from this years draft, but you have to give the man credit. Impressive roster for summer league. I'm for Almond as much as anyone, but I still hope Pat Jr. gets his shot.

mikesknicks - excellent research homeslice. I love the way Donnie Walsh has added fluid length to the frontcourt and diversified the roster possibilities. Mike D'Antoni's international experience, along with the clandestine work of the Knicks scouting staff and is changing the culture for the better.

Skita' and Almond would have the best shot at making it I would think.

With Gallo, Al Jr, Hill, and Darko how much room is there for 4's and 5's to play?

On the other hand, fans are hoping the Mayor can play 96 minutes combined every night at the 2 and 3 slots and there's no backup point at the moment either.

If MoNuts, and Skita can't make this team, they're really done.
