After 4 straight years of missing the playoffs and 20-30 win teams, who wants to sign with us after this season if we still suck AND have no lottery pick...
Available PGs:

Raymond Felton (restricted) PG with a shaky jump shot for D'antoni. No thanks.

Ramon Sessions - gets assists but doesn't really seem like a floor leader to me. more of a scorer who can pass..

Jarret Jack

Jason Kidd - I like him as a rental. Lebron likes him but does he have anything in the tank to play beyond this season?

Mike Bibby - definitely on the downslope of his career

Flip Murray - cheaper Nate?

The pickings seem slim.

What exactly does Walsh do? Stand pat and go into next season with Duhon, Rook + ______ ? to play the point and win 30 games again and give Utah a nice pick???

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Stand pat and let it come to you.

I'd give Kidd a 3 yr partial MLE deal. Other than that I'd let Duhon run the offense. We aren't making the playoffs anyway.

Three years to a 37 year old declining Kidd? No thanks.

Duhon was a mistake...only thing he proved was he could hit the 3pter...everything else was a lie. "He never seems to get tired" lies!!!

I truly believe the Knicks need to make a change some how. Kidd @ 37 is still way better than Duhon...Kidd @ 40 will still be better.

Did Andre Miller retire? Isn't he a free agent as well?

Good Call on Flip Murray. One of my favorite players in the nba. Dude is a valuable player to have in ur rotation

I assume if we won in 2010/11 he'd retire and collect his free cash.

I just dont want him eating more 2010 cap space than he has too.

If NY offered Felton the full mid I doubt Cha would match. Felton can push the tempo to MDA's preferred pace and he is a good defender.

jumper is still shaky but so is Duhon's Kidds and Rubios. I'm sure he is in the gym right now working on that shot.

Don't think the Knicks will offer anyone but Nash/Kidd the MLE. Felton doesn't justify taking cap room away in 2010.

We just drafted our backup point who is potential starter material.

Douglas is that good!

IMO all the eggs in the Lebron basket isn't sound judgement

I hope someone on Walsh's staff realizes the Cavs can sign a mid level FA this summer and still sign Bosh to a max deal next summer as well. If Lebron opts out they too can sign two max FA's then re-up Lebron.

I think we just need to focus on not signing long term deals with Walsh being able to bolt/retire in summer 2011.

I prefer the next GM to not be tied down by long deals.

I'm not sure but I think the teams have to re-up their own first. If they sign two free agents then they will surpass the cap leaving them no money to resign LeBron.

no one, including Walsh, has said that it's LeBron or nothing. That's a very bad assumption.

It still doesn't take away from the fact that you don't sign a so-so PG and risk not being able to sign 2 max free agents. That's just not sound management.

He shouldve thought about that when he decided Chandler was worth more than the 5 pick

Since we're on the subject of PGs...

After waiting all this time for The Summer Of 2010....have we all lost sight of the summer of 2012..when CP3OH! will finally get sick of Nawlins and their penny-pinching let's trade Tyson Chandler away to dump his salary ways..and opts out of his contract to play for D'Antoni on a team that is On The Verge (hopefully we won't have completely screwed things up by giving a solid player a 10 year $100 million Superstar deal..

Please no Franchise player contracts for non franchise players...

I think that is a selling point that Walsh should use with Khan. If you send us Rubio, I will set it up so you are the GM of the Knicks.

Felts not Deron or Paul but he is still a good talent at the pg pos. I just hope the FO is doing their due diligence when weighing what superstars will be available vs what talent may also be availiable to build a team

In fairness to Donnie, I don't think most people thought Rubio would be available at # 5.

Who else in the draft was worth trading Chandler and the # 8 for?

I would have preferred reachign for Ty Lawson at # 8 rather than going for Sure Thing/Best player available Jordan Hill.

But then I'm drinking the Hollinger kool aid. I hope that Hill proves me wrong big time and am focusing on the fact the he supposedly got a late start in basketball in life...
