* The Wolves did turn down that Knicks’ offer of No. 8 and Wilson Chandler for the No. 5, which Donnie Walsh would have used to take Rubio and not Stephen Curry.I have heard several people on this board killing Donnie for not pulling the trigger on a trade that would have landed us Rubio at 5. I have read about several stories killing him for the same thing. Hey... what a suprise, he did try and the deal was shot down. I remember him saying the same thing about the Nate/JJ trade to Sac as a salary dump and people killing him for that. Then he said "that was never on the table." I think this guy is good and does a good job. I look at all those deals he made for Indy, all those guys he drafted and how few duds he had. The guy is methodical and puts good players on the floor. I expect the same here. We know he's going to stick to his cap space plan, hopefully it yields us a star (or two). "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

Posted by fishmike: if that is true, why did walsh walk away from Washington when WAS asked for Wilson and pick 8. one of these rumors is false. i'm guessing this most recent one is false to try to cover that Walsh screwed up in a major way. the knicks needed to walk out of this draft with Rubio or Curry. instead they got a journey man PF in the lottery. yawn. people can spin all they want, but we all know this draft was an epic failure. let's move on. ¿ △ ?
