I dont believe it would be for Rubio though... I think if DW moves up to the 2nd pick it will be for Thabeet whom I am pretty sure he covets.

If we get Sergio on a draft day deal and select Thabeet with the 2nd then we are in really good shape.

I dunno, I still haven't figured out whether we want Rubio or Thabeet. I actually still think we want Rubio, but considering the press overtures towards guys like Cabezas and Rodriguez, we could have a different strategy there.

Up untill now we've been talking about potentially having the space to land 2 big FA's, but if the opportunity presented itself to add several nice pieces this year would you rather just leave the space for 1 big FA?

I wouldn't be dissapointed about that. I just want to build a championship contending team and if that means one great free agent, then fine. If it means 2 then fine. I think it's no secret though that while there's no set formula, you still have to have one or two superstars. Maybe Thabeet turns out to be one.

that's a team i can see improving - a traditional lineup with firepower, rebounding, shotblocking, playmaking. yes. that would be what i want. but i think they covet rubio.

I think this is the mindset of the entire league...thats why there are rumblings of trading down and Jordan Hill's falling in the draft boards...

I think Walsh really covets Thabeet and the reason they haven't worked him out is because they are #8 and he won't be there after the top 3 picks are made. But there are lots of reasons why the Knicks would take Rubio, so who really knows who would they want at #2?

I wouldn't be so sure either, because of the two, Thabeet has more chances of being a bust, so whoever they pick, I hope they make the right choice.

I hate to speak for briggs, but I think he wants a few good foreign players sprinkled in. A team full of foreign players will not win a NBA championship, I think that is his point. None of those euroleague teams will come into the NBA and win, so he doesn't want to replicate a losing scenario...

Who says a team full of foreign players wouldn't win? A euro-team wouldn't win over here because they aren't that good.. the foreign players that come over here are the best of the best.

How many superstars were on those Celtic and Laker teams? Worthy, Magic, Kareem...Byron Scott, Micheal Cooper, Nixon....they had a fleet of superstars and borderline stars and starters on their bench. Celtics had the same thing.

Bottom line is the Knicks need to keep getting good players....Chandler is a huge piece. He might reach 18/20pts per game with great stats to go with it. I believe Gallo is going to make a huge impact this season from day one. If Sergio really is going to become a Knicks, I bet the dude has a breakout season as well.

The rest of the roster is filled with roster boosting potential. Alot og guys can be flipped to bring in pieces that fit....Darko is still a youngster coming of injury and he is due to break out...Thabeet is soft as hell but he has great shot blocking instincts....add a mix of players like this and you never know what the mix can do as a team...let me list them:

(no particular order or position)
Chandler
Gallo
Darko
Thabeet
Sergio
maybe a resigned Lee
Flip Hughes, Q, Harrington and bring in a guy like Josh Howard, DeAndre Jordan, Kaman, Rip Hamilton, Biedris, Stephan Jackson, or Yi

sign a guy like Charlie Villenueva instead of over paying David Lee is also a huge option I wish the Knicks could consider. Ramon Sessions is another player the Knicks could consider...seems like he could be had cheap as well.

how? Knicks trade up to 2 using contracts and #8 and draft Thabeet...they use mobley's contract to get Sergio and a filler...use David Lee or contracts of Q or hughes to get Stephan Jax....sign Charlie V for a little more that what he was making on the rookie scale....I'm a genius.
