Posted by GKFv2: so i have to ask you for an explaination??? again??? I mean I'm asking why dude...."because he sucks"??? thats not true....maybe he is unexperienced but the dude played well for Doc Rivers and always plays well when they put him in. You can't stop the kid from scoring....you gotta give me a valid explanation bro Subscribe to my Podcast https://youtube.com/c/DiehardknicksPodcast

i ask myself the same question but maybe he's got a bad attitude & isn't dedicated to improving his game? who knows what goes on behind the scenes that none of us are aware of... he's got all the tools to be great but has never been able to grow into the player many people thought he could be for whatever reason... never going to college really hurt his development IMO as well... he clearly wasn't emotionally or mentally ready to hit the pros
u can see this kid's game isn't all about highlight dunks... he's got a perimeter game as well, but he's never been able to get an extended run in the NBA on any team he's been on... i actually thought he was showing some nice signs his 2nd year w/BOS when he averaged 10 ppg in just over 20 minutes... i don't think it's too late for this kid, maybe it's just a question of work ethic? he's definitely got game if u ask me. It's a very good question. He's a great athlete and has a good shot. Maybe he's not the smartest guy in the world and maybe he doesn't play great d, but with his talent, he still should be at least a good backup.

he's had a few chances and there is no doubt that someone else will give him a chance. But with his ability there is a problem if he is going from team to team and not able to find a spot. Pretty good chance that something is going on in practices and on the court that you and I will never know about unless we were on the team or coaching him. We've been through this before, but sometimes a guy that looks great to the fans is doing nothing that his coach is asking him to do.
I just hope that people will like me

Posted by knicks1248: lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Posted by eViL: Harold Minor sucked...he couldn't dribble, pass or score.....he was just a beast on the break away dunk, lol...and he was slow. Gerald Green is a natural Scorer, with great size and speed to go with his hops.... Playing for D'antoni he would be a star imho....dude is 23 now. Knicks need to sign this kid.... Posted by EnySpree:Posted by eViL: I think you're using the word "star" too blatantly, as that word always gets abused. How can you just assume this kid would become a star in New York ? What has he done in his career that would make you think this ? He' only averaging 7 ppg for his young career, and although the verdict may not be out on him yet, I like my chances of believing he'll never be a star. |

Posted by Bippity10:Posted by EnySpree:Posted by eViL: It has to be something we don't know....it has nothing to do with his play on the court. I think players get blacklisted in pro sports. It makes you wonder how guys with drug problems can be given a pro contract easy, but a kid with good potential can barely stay in the league. How about this? The dude is the Andre Ware of the NBA. Athletically gifted, but not the mind/heart/work ethic necessary.

Posted by EnySpree:Posted by Bippity10:Posted by EnySpree:Posted by eViL: What's the logical reason that a guy with great talent would get blacklisted and not make a team. The only reason I can find(if he is in fact being blacklisted) is that he's a pain in the asse that coaches don't want to deal with. Or he just doesn't understand the game well enough to get on the floor. Coaches don't dislike a player for no reason. But coaches do talk and if you are a pain in the asse at a couple places it will get to everyone and eventually nobody will want you..........You reap what you sew. A supremely talented player with no issues is not going to be "blacklisted" for no reason. There is always a reason. Green has been traded a few times and has never gotten significant minutes. It's not because coaches are stupid and don't see the talent. The fact that he keeps hanging around and getting chances just goes to prove that everyone does recognize his talent. It's up to him to work on the rest of his game and improve enough that he forces coaches to play him. Then all his fans can run around and say "see I told you he could play, all the coaches were just too stupid to see it" I just hope that people will like me

Posted by purple012870: Anything written to suggest this? Quotes from people that matter? No.....so this is an opinion like anyone else. The fact is his play on the court. Work ethic??? The kid can jump out the gym. So he doesn't work for it???I guess that's just God given.....heart? Kid has a killer instinct how can you say he doesn't have heart. Maturity is the only thing I can think of....but how immature is a kid with a jumpshot like his...the ability to put the ball in the basket so easily??? Maybe he freelances too much because he can take his man at will??? That's why I believe as a Knick under D'antoni he can be a "star".....by star I don't mean Micheal Jordan...so I guess to avoid menstral cramps I'll just say "really really good" like D'antoni says.....D'antoni wants guys to run, pass and make shots....he has that down pat. D'antoni will put the kid in spots where he can be effective. That's why I think the kid is worth a roster spot as soon as the free agent market opens up.
