CHICAGO - Here in Chicago waiting for the next wave of potential first-rounders to fill into The Westin for the final media availability..

Back in New York, ESPN Radio's Brandon Tierney had Amare Stoudemire on this morning and reiterated remarks about his desire to play for Mike D'Antoni in 2010 while boasting about being better than Chris Bosh. Stoudemire told The Post similar stuff during All-Star Weekend.

When Tierney asked Stoudemire if he's better than Bosh, the Suns forward said, "Oooh man, are you kidding me? Ask Chris Bosh that question."

So that's a yes?

"No doubt about it, I'm better than Chris Bosh"

"How serious will you consider the KnicksNew York Knicks in 2010"?

"I will be totally serious about that, I spent a lot of my childhood there, I have a connection with the state, and I also love the entire coaching staff"

" I think Coach D'Antoni's doing a phenomenal job with the Knicks, NY's a great city, I follow them closely."

Bosh or Stoudemire? Your call.

LOL! so much for the "Amare would never want to play for MDA" theory some of you experts have been using... & dude, anyone who thinks Bosh is better than Amare has never seen either of them play... like i been saying, whether we miss out on Lebron & Wade or not, i think Walsh's plan is to get 2 max stars in 2010 & Amare is definitely high on the list of targets that has a real chance of ending up here.

Sorry I forgot about Gallo!!!!
If we can keep David Lee on the cheap then it'll be

Stephen Curry
Wilson Chandler
Lebron James
David Lee
Amare Stat

Who's messing with that team?

Better get on the Knicks bandwagon now because once 2010 comes, those doors will be closed.

DaJoka, if you want both of those guys AND Lee, you better be praying on your knees that Curry is getting in shape so we can trade him.

Curry can definitely be the starting PG if we have Lebron, as he will be accepting ball handling duty as well.

Even then, you have to get rid of Jeffries also and convince Lee to take a contract below 8m.

You better root hard for the Magic. There is no way LeBron is going to come to NYK unless he gets totally demoralized with his cavs team. you can forget LeBron coming if the Cavs win a championship.

I think that is right... with a SF or PF with ball handling skills like LBJ or Odom, a cold-blooded shooter like Curry is preferable to a more traditional PG (and less of a shooter)-- like Andre Miller. I am excited about the prospect of LBJ in orange and blue, but I like the direction this team is headed more--- where players are interested in playing in NY.

That said... I would not take old Amare over Bosh. Looking at player efficiency ratios, I think Bosh is the better all around player. I probably wouldn't offer a max contract to either of them though. Besides LBJ and Wade, I wouldn't max any of the other FA players (even though other teams absolutely will). Maybe Dirk, but he is getting old too. I think all-star caliber players can be had for less than the max. I wouldn't max anyone less than a legit perennial MVP candidate under the age of 28.

Eh... he'll make up his mind eventually. People argue this point both ways. I think the Knicks current Knicks surrounding LBJ would get to the same place.

Keep in mind he has to be demoralized next season too. As far as a championship goes, its not happening this year. Cleveland needs to choke in the playoffs next year too. There's a good chance everyone on the Cavs besides LBJ will suck even more next year, at least that's what we should all be hoping for.

You are very right. He has to be demoralized by the Magic and then the team has to suck next year.

if d'antoni coaches in 2010, then he will have the longest tenure since van gundy. so maybe amare thinks mda won't be around by then?

knicks offseason 2010: sign nash, amare, re-sign quentin, trade for marion and pick up kurt thomas on the cheap.

SSOL - but the SS now stands for social security...

btw, if d'alsh mentions amare's name, it's tampering. but amare saying this results in nothing. way to keep your fanbase in pheonix mister double double (pts and microfractures)...

That prediction will be about as right as your Knicks are guaranteed the 2nd pick prediction.

Amare's game reminds me of Dice.

An athletic freak who needs to build on more fundamentals and he will be solid.

Dudes want to play for MDA cuz he will make you look good.

Im not worried about who D'walsh picks. They are not Isiah.
