I have compiled every conceivable reason for Lebron to stay in Cleveland vs. come to NY. I am posting them below. This will effectively terminate all subsequent Lebron discussion as there is nothing left to discuss. You're welcome for all the time I have saved you over the next 18 months.

CLEVELAND: Cleveland can pay him more.
NY: He’ll make it up in endorsement money.
CLEVELAND: He’ll make endorsement money anywhere.
NY: But he’d make even more endorsement money in NY.

CLEVELAND: CC Sabbathia and Eddy Curry will steal all his food and he’ll starve to death.
NY: Lebron will save money on weight lifting equipment and instead just lift Eddy and CC all day. This saved money will make him the wealthiest man in the world.

CLEVELAND: This is his home town.
NY: He loves NY. CC Sabbathia told us so. He’ll play for the Yankees too BTW. They can pay him more than Cleveland. Bore Jackson did it and Lebron is better than anyone named Bore!

CLEVELAND: The Cavs are closer to a championship than the Knicks will ever be.
NY: The Cavs supporting cast sucks. It wouldn’t take anytime to build a comparable supporting cast.

CLEVELAND: The tax rate is too high in NYC.
NY: We talkin’ taxes? He’ll make more endorsement money than anyone could ever need in NY.

CLEVELAND: He loves his teammates in Cleveland and would never abandon them. (Just for you, Panos).
NY: Get real!

NY: Nike will give him a huge bonus if he goes to NY just like that Kobe rumor along time ago.
CLEVELAND: BS.

CLEVELAND: Lebron knows nothing is worse than losing in NY and wouldn’t put himself in that situation.
NY: Lebron thinks he’ll win anywhere. Yeah but no place is better to win in too.

CLEVELAND: If he wins a championship this year, he’d never leave that kind of success.
NY: No, then he’d be looking for a new challenge and reviving the Knicks would be perfect.

NY: Lebron and Wade have already made plans to team up in NYC.
CLEVELAND: Wade told a source who told a source who told a source he would never p lay in NY.

NY: Lebron and Bosh are teaming up in NY.
CLEVELAND: Bosh sucks. His team finished 2-80.

Bosh does suck.

here's the one thing that ends the argument forever:

physics. if he plays for new york, he is physically present in new york 41 games a year. there is no better marketing than having the person in real life.

he will come to new york simply because while he plays in cleaveland he can't be in new york.

CC doesn't want Lebron to take his spot in the starting rotation. That's all.

Lebonn did a media conference saying everything is cool and said all the right things but wore a freaking Yankee cap.

What message is that? A smoke screen to put pressure on his owner and new partners to blow him away or a not so subliminal hint of whats gonna happen?

He is risk free. Even if he blows his ACL he will get max money. Any new collective agreement that lowers his salary is chump change compared to what he will make.

He is big china now, and will be regardless of his chinese minority (%) owner of the team.

Being in NY helps his euro exposure, south america and still keeps him big in Asia.

If he wants to max his exposure to Asia he would be better to play on the west coast.

Kobe in LA, Lebron in NY got it covered.

Sterns wet dream is a Ny-LA series.

Thing is Lakes might not be on top by the time the knicks get there.

cavs have $35 mil in expiring contracts this summer.

they have 2 options:

1. convince lebron to stay and utilize cap space in 2010 to bring in his robin
2. trade those expirings this summer, take on deals but improve the roster big time

a quick example if they go route #2:

- trade expiring for vince and future first
- trade expiring for zach and future first
- re-sign verejao
- throw MLE at sheed
