bring Lampe back. He's said he wasnt ready for the NBA, he wants to come back and when he does he's going to be a bigtime player. He's 24 and averaged 15/6.5 in 23 minutes his last two seasons in Europe. I would def get him back here for 3 years $10mm.

We have no bigs

why? whats wrong with looking at a guy who is 24, putting up good numbers goes 6'11 can handle, shoot, play inside and has a mean streak?

Most of us where gushing over what he showed in the summer leagues, and I believe he won first team in the denver rocky mountain league that summer. Then he comes to the Chaney/Layden Knicks followed by Isiah who covets white euro guys almost as much as Briggs does.

We wants to play in the NBA, and he's at the right age for a big man with his skills to be maturing.

We going to play Lee at center again?

Anyone who wants to sign a contract with the Knicks that compromises cap space in 2010 better be a sure thing, not a gamble.

I'll co-sign. He was 18 when he was drafted and just needed time to develop.

He'll be the perfect C for D'Antoni, and will probably be cheaper than Lee- won't give you the gaudy numbers Lee does, but will fill in efficiently.

way way way cheaper. He wants to play in the NBA. We have a euro friendly system and coach. He's 24 and had back to back excellent seasons overseas. We could get him over here cheap.. I am thinking 3 years and $9-$10mm, just a bit more than what our lottery pick will make.

He's 6'11 and while his work ethic was questionable as a teenager he was never labeled soft.

We need bigs.. Curry is an afterthought.

Maciej moved to Khimki Moscow Region. In February 2008, Khimki beat CSKA Moscow in the Russian Cup final and Maciej was awarded the best player (MVP) of the cup final. Maciej then signed a three year contract extension with Khimki.

This would be a nice low risk-high reward deal and its probably true that those years oversea have helped him develop.

Donnie should start reading this boards. This would be a good idea to explore.

Sign Lampe for the minimum. Let him prove himself first.

How the Knicks treated him??? Man, duke was a scrub. Get out of here.

If he wants to show up at summer camp, lets go, no problem. Earn a spot. But if you're trying to just hand this cat a contract after his smelly ass NBA run then you're on crack. He's got to do more than put up some decent numbers in some Russian rec league for me to give him a second chance because not too long ago he was pitiful and clearly didnt belong in the D league, let alone the Big Time.

this guy can play, plus his rookie year numbers weren't horrible...definitely worth a look...As a rookie, averaged 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 10.7 minutes in 21 games, all with Phoenix

No way in hell I just hand this dude 10 million, sight unseen. Not after getting run out the league just a few years ago.

Again, I need some of what ya'll are smoking. Seriously. I do. Like really.

Doesn't he play Gallo's position? Not sure there's a fit for him.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

No... Lampe is bigger than Gallo. Lamp is 6'11 260. He's a high post center type player. Like a Brad Miller with good shooting and passing skills.

And seb, nobody is saying throw $10mm and see if he sticks. He's getting paid well in Europe and thats the same league Sabonis came from. If they havent scouted him go over the tape of every game, shouldnt be too hard. My gut feeling is he wasnt ready for the NBA and the culture change, screwed around and got serious about basketball. He's 24 years old.

We are talking about giving him draftpick money here... rookie contract. About half the MLE for 3 years so if he's good he's ours (bird rights).

Its just a thought... not exactly like there is a derth of bigs out there to be had. This makes cost sense for us and has high upside.
