Houston wasn't the moron who picked that guy... it was Scott Layden.

What the hell does all this mean? Dont tell me you guys are so myopic that you think Wade would have been the next Ron Mercer if we would have drafted him instead of The Meat.

I think the Knicks would have rotted him on the bench and eventually Isiah would have come in and played him a little and then traded him away because he wasn't an Isiah pick. Wade shouold thank the lucky stars that he didn't become a Knick. He would have been half the player he is today.

can't risk our team chemistry this year either... we already have Wilson Chandler at the SG... no need to draft any uber talented & athletic kids that play SG.

You know its true, don't fight it man accept being a Knicks fan and accept the type of organization the Knicks were then. They had no interest in developing talent. Wade would have gone the way of Postell, Wallace. That was just what the NYK org. was talent development just wasn't a priority.

Alright, I'll give you that the Knicks havent given us much to work with over the years in terms of drafting and developing star talent, but there is no way in hell they would have messed up on Wade.

Wade immediately became an All-Star talent and shortly became a top 10 and top 5 player in the league. I dont care if we're talking about Layden, Zeke, whomever, nobody in hell can be that dumb. Its physically impossible.

Postell sucked. Less said about him the better, but watching Wade emasculate Shandon Anderson and Eisely in practice everyday would have made the decision foolproof for Knick coaches and management.

They would have found a way or traded him away.

Doesn't fit the system- the rest of the Miami team shuts down when he has the ball.

Who needs him.

you can’t be serious. he had no one on his team helping him this year - yet still managed 7-8 assists per game.

and you do remember 3 years ago don't you? did that team "shut down" when dwade had the ball?

Hard to recognize deadpan humor in a forum. I actually like Wade- just foolin'. He's the ultimate warrior. I was happy to see him get through the year without any major injuries.

I don't know if anyone on the Heat will be getting shot attempts between Beasley and Wade, though.
