Ive come to the conclusion that BJ Mullens just has way too much long term potential in such a small darft not to be a top 6 guy.

If we dont win the lottery and we dont get Evans or Derozan Im fixated on two players Flynn and Mullens and Mullens slightly wins out. IF Johnny's shot was a tad more pure Id probably have him ranked as high as 3--Im really on on Flynn. I just love his strength speed and athletic combination and believe it will make him a great NBA PG.

The only reason why Mullens is being discounted is youth and the fact that big men take longer to develop. But the bottom line--the Knicks are PERPETUALLY small. He is a true 7 foot 270 pound athletic C with a very nice frame with good offensive moves who can rebound and block a few shots.

Steph Curry might be really good or he might be a fringe part time player. I think thats a tad too much of a leap at 8. I feel like Mullens in the open system can thrive as a 5. He's a great finisher and he's just a baby. Too much to pass on. Think about what Morcin gortat did and then add a much more skilled player in a stronger more athletic faster body.

This team REALLY needs a C. Id rather get a later pick and watch a guy like Holiday heck maybe even Curry drop like a rock and pick him upo later--we wont be able to do that with the big in this draft.

Go big first [i have very little faith the players I think that are really good will be lasting to 8 in this shtty draft]--teams will want out of the draft and we can opportunistically find a PG --we wont be able to do that with the big man. lets leverage the pick and go big secure the big.

I think some team will get scared enough and take Mullens pretty high. No centers in the league. He has little post skills but who knows. Miller and Kaman came into the league with a lot better footwork than this kid. I'm thinking he will be more like Mihms. At least he has meat on his bone unlike guys like O'Bryant. There is really a lack of productive big men in the league. The league should hire Ewing for all 32 teams. Everyone talks about his work with Dwight but his real calling card is what he has done with Gortat.

Miller and Kaman were much older players. Mullens is much more advanced at the same stage heck Chris Kaman was 6-11 210 pounds as a freshmen--no one wanted him. Mullens already is adept at sealing his man and his footwork is tad under arted as he wasnt featured at all. He can also step out and hit a mid range shot. Remember this is the big ten freshmen of the year---he's going to get much better--especially if he came into a system where he could get a lot of spacing.

I don't know how many people have seen this tape but I really think it shows how this kid could play in an open system. More focused on finishing moves than halfcourt play--although his halfcourt play is quite goof--albeit against HS comp.

I think the very first play in this clip shows you a great deal of what this kid can be

And that is the biggest thing with Mullens--projecting him as a player who will clearly become a much better player with experience--possibly more explosive and quicker working with pro trainers. There are not many people on this Earth who are athletic 7-1 270 pounds and 19 years old. The more I think of the last 9 years--the one thing sticks out in my head--almost every year except when we had dikembe--we were always one of the smallest teams in the league. We really need a 5 man and we are not reaching at 8 for this kid in this draft. If this kid stayed in school--like Mcgee Jordan and a lot of players who went out last year --we would not only not be able to get them but we will regret not taking him. If we are 8 and Mullens is there--we should take him.
I really believe at the end of the day he makes the most sense. I feel like I know what Im getting.

I really hope that Donnie Walsh gets its here. Take the big athletic man Donnie

Ricky Rubio 5? Seriously?

Ricky Rubio cant hold John Wall's jockstrap. He's not the best PG in his class and he's not better than Tyreke Evans

I would not expect him to, because Rubio would not be in a vacant home that Wall had broken into waiting for his turn to score with the girl they brought into the house.

Rubio is an assist man, but not that type of assist man.

I've seen Flynn play more than most. He's a nice player, but I don't see him being that good.

What's his ceiling? TJ Ford? I just don't see him being a whole lot better than that. That's a mid-first talent. Not a lottery talent.

No T Williams? Why is Jrue so low?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
