The thing I liked about the interview - He said he's been hitting the weight room and put on five pounds.

he also said he could probably play Nash's style of game if he got quicker... anyone know how he's gonna manage to get quicker by working out & adding weight?

This better be a smoke signal by the Knicks. Please God let these morons win this lottery so they can't F this thing up again.

Most of the pro speed runners are put together like NFL Safeties. You can build explosion with weight training.

You get quicker by getting stronger, working on fundamentals and playing against quicker people all the time.

It's a pretty natural occurance --- same as a quick 18 year old high school kid who goes off to college and comes back significantly improved. It's called being a professional and maximizing every inch of your potential. It's to be determined if Curry will do this but he sure as hell can get quicker -- certainly not super quick like a Flynn but he can improve significantly with hard work.

i'm not doubting this kid's work ethic... i think he's got a good character makeup & has nice intangible qualities that u can't teach... but his physical limitations worry me... & i'm not sure how much quickness he's gonna add by working hard on his game... he may add bulk, get stronger, be able to improve on his defense & all those things... all that stuff can be improved on w/hard work... but u ain't gonna mold yourself into no freak athlete unless you already got that gift, i don't care how hard u work on your game or your conditioning (unless u start taking PED's or something of that nature)

Andrew Miller is listed at 6'2" 200lbs. He aint the quickest, the biggest, the strongest but he gets the job done. BB IQ makes up for a lot.

Andre Miller is a legit point guard with the complex point guard mentality. He has great court vision. His first instinct is to set up his teammates. He is an underrated defender at the position. Stephen Curry is none of these. He will be listed as a point guard but will constantly have a shooter's mentality.

Believe me, Curry isn't my first choice for draft pick, but he's certainly not my last. This kid is a good player and he's a very hard worker. I have absolutely no doubts that when he says he's going to being doing work to put weight on and get faster that he most certainly will do it. That is just the type of kid he is.

I have concerns that we *guaranteed* this pick to Curry--that is my main concern. I really believe it's important to have him get into workouts with other PG type prospects like Evans Flynn Teague Calathes Lawson Maynor---there are a bunch of them and they all have different types of games and physical assets. If he goes into workouts with these guys and really holds his own or shines--you would feel better about the pick[assuming he is the pick] If he went into workouts and clearly was dominated and showed serious flaw against some of these players--well then you would have a major red flag. I don't know if he is proven enough to get a guarantee. You want to keep your options wide open.

i agree w/u Pharzeone... martin's right that Miller's not the most athletic or the quickest, but he's a different kind of player than Curry IMO... like u i think Curry's strength is as a scoring G, not as an orchestrator.

I may just be ignorant, but what's the point of guaranteeing a pick to a prospect?
What advantage does that give you as a team?

Couldve been the difference between him coming in the draft and not.

Am I wrong that most daft picks can't shoot an outside J that well. Stephen is the exception to that right? If he can build some more muscle tone he should go up there in the rankings

You make a guarantee so that the prospect doesn't work out for anyone else. Isn't that how we got Chandler?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
